Great blog post, coycasket!
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Another Goth inspired Swap on: April 19, 2017 05:45:45 AM
I'd be down for it, as long as it's open after I come back from my road trip.  So, after May 1st Smiley

Ooh, road trips are great! Where are you going?

Those Princess Bride items are wonderful! I'm pinning the wire cursive right now!

I offer the following photos as proof that I'm the most spoiled participant in this swap! EdelC sent the most amazing package possible.

Here it is:

A kickass chainmaille bracelet

Not one but two beautiful pieces of hand-stamped fabric

A bound leather journal with gorgeous paper inside

A pair of fantastic raven-themed pillow cases

A super comfy (and stylish!) embroidered apron, which needs a close up so you can see the detail.

She put the rune Fehu on there for good luck!

And now on to the best part!
A shrine to Odin! EdelC made me a shrine! It's amazing! She even put a genuine raven feather in it!

And inside the shrine, there was a miniature set of handmade runes. They're the cutest thing ever.

Just because I wasn't already blown away by her handiwork, she also included a set of LED lights shaped as flowers for my garden-themed ceiling

There was choclate too, but it didn't last long enough to be photographed.

I rest my case. EdelC is the best swap partner ever! Thank you so much for everything. In the immortal words of Wayne & Garth, "I'm not worthy!"

That's a pretty Celtic knot. I don't know how anyone manages to get the lines right on those, they confuse my brain.

Celtic knots are confusing! Even if I'm following a knot I've traced, I still have to pay a lot of attention not to get lost when I'm stitching.

Abbeeroad, those patches are fabulous. I love that stencil!

Everything in this round has been lovely. Right now, my fingers are crossed that CLM's package will arrive soon. (Apparently there's been drama at the shipping company.)

Somewhere in the world, there are photos of a gas mask cozy I made for a friend to wear to the G20. It looked like an elephant's head. She was dressed as a Republican banker with dollar bills trailing behind her on bits of string. It was hilarious. I'll have to try and find it.

Quote of the day: just because I wear lipstick don't mean I can't kick your ass!

Sharalee, the jellyfish was just an elongated semi-circle of fabric (the kind of sparkly sheer called "crystalette ") gathered tightly at the top and less along the bottom. I stuffed it with white crystalette to make it shine more, then just stitched it down. The tendrils are embroidered in chain stitch with a few zigged strips of crystalette added for texture.

I'm glad people like it. I was a bit skeptical myself - I think I expected it to come out differently somehow, I think.

Wulf

i always expect things to come differently than they do! The finished product is almost as much of a surprise to me as to my partner. Sometimes that's a good thing.
9  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Yet Another TM Patch Swap R8-SU: CLOSED; SO: April 3, 2017 on: April 04, 2017 05:21:36 AM
I'm sending after work today. I just missed the post office last night. Like, I got there when they were closing, and they wouldn't let me in. I was all Grandpa Simpson. "Please let me in. It's cold and there are wolves chasing me!" Wink
