12  My first sock. On a loom! in Knitting: Completed Projects by SanDorfALot on: September 20, 2011 06:09:35 PM
I've been meaning to tackle a sock for a while, and did today. It took about 2 hours and I'm happy with it. I just have to make a matching one. The wool is soft and it will be good in these cold Canadian winters! C&C appreciated.

13  2 more animal hats! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by SanDorfALot on: September 09, 2011 06:50:18 PM
I made these the past few days using two different techniques and I found the purple hat the fastest, but the yellow hat the best looking (it's a bit big for me though) I love them, I'm going to embroider faces on them. Enjoy!
Sorry, the pics are from my iPhone!

14  Winters coming.. my first fleece hat! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by SanDorfALot on: September 01, 2011 03:25:18 PM
This is my first attempt at working with fleece and I don't think it turned out badly at all. There are a few technical errors I made, and I'm using a different tequnique for my next hat, which I'm starting in a minute. I think its cute. My dog tried to steal it off my head. Enjoy!

15  A nice, flowy summer dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by SanDorfALot on: July 20, 2011 09:24:14 AM
This was my first attempt at an actual dress, I made a jumper (pinafore) before. It took me a couple hours over two days and I'm happy with it. I need to make some minor alterations, but you can't see them in the pic. The pic does no justice to the fabric, its pretty. I can't really wear a bra with it (big chest) but it'll be good for going to the beach and wearing a swimsuit underneath. I didn't use a pattern, just a lot of measuring and my sewing machine behaved nicely. C&C appreciated, thanks for looking! (Sorry, the pic sucks, my mom took it on her iPhone 3g because I was being lazy)

16  A pinafore (jumper) with my new sewing machine! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by SanDorfALot on: July 17, 2011 12:46:23 AM
I used to use my grandma's old sewing machine but it seems that the only person that can get it to work is my mom. So on a whim, I bought a nice little sewing machine, figured it out, and made this pinafore! I'm super happy because I didn't get any help from my mom (she's a really great seamstress!) and I didn't use a pattern. This pic kinda sucks, but I like it.

17  Mother and daughter circle skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by SanDorfALot on: May 23, 2011 07:16:57 PM
I didn't have a pattern for a circle skirt, so my mom and I made one up. I wanted a long, flowy skirt, and I found this fabric at Fabricland on Buy 1 get 2 free (metres, just a bit bigger than a yard) She did a lot of the sewing, the fabric is stretchy and a pain to work with. My mom's been sewing for much longer than I've been alive, and she's really good, and she taught me as well. Basically, I measured my waist, calculated the diameter I'd need, and we marked the fabric with pins, folded it and cut it out in a quarter circle. Then we cut out the size of my waist (plus seam) to make a waist band. I sewed the one end of the waist band together, and then sewed it to the inner circle, where my waist would go. Then she sewed the seem. The picture's not the greatest, and do note I am short (5"3) so it's shorter than it looks, but perfect length for me! Thanks!

18  Some new stitches! in Needlework: Completed Projects by SanDorfALot on: May 03, 2011 06:09:28 AM
I enjoyed stitching these. The second one may be offensive to some and there is some bad language, but I'm still posting them. Enjoy!

19  Have you seen this unicorn? If you have, you're tripping balls in Needlework: Completed Projects by SanDorfALot on: April 17, 2011 04:09:51 PM
I found the quote on Memebase, and thought it would be fun to stitch. It took forever.

20  Still think you're hardcore? Bow to your dark lord! in Needlework: Completed Projects by SanDorfALot on: April 16, 2011 01:41:30 PM
I found this cute pattern for Cthulu, and stitched it, and added the text in backstitch. It's pretty tiny. Enjoy!
