Metal fiber gloves? Sounds useful for the kitchen, too. Lord knows how many times I've nicked my fingers while cutting things.

QueenHobo, that mustache pillow is so cute!

Roler, those twinchies are cute! I especially love the Harry Potter one <3

Freaky, the jumpsuit is awesome! I'm floored by the teeny seams required to make those doll clothes. So finicky!

I've had several people here and elsewhere on the 'net, as well as my aunt and mom, tell me that their machines just LOVE to chew up tiny projects. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my machine keeps sewing them without trying to eat them!

How on earth did you sew such a tiny jumpsuit!?  It is really detailed for being so small!

Love the ATC's for the PLs...you guys never seem to run out of ideas!

My "crafting" has been limited to our garden and cooking for many people who have lost a loved one...food and funerals seem to go together...sadly, but, it does comfort people and bring everyone together...I hope not to see a casserole or a cake in a long time...

I did make a few odd things...pics later!

I modified a couple of patterns I bought off Etsy to make that jumpsuit Smiley I didn't even add all the details since that was just a prototype.

Gardening is fun crafting, as is cooking. I hate that you've had to make so much for people who've lost loved ones but I know they appreciated your thoughts <3

Ouch! Shocked
My hubs once sliced off a chunk of his finger nail with one of those big paper cutters they have at schools (we were in high school). You know, the ones with the big blade on the arm of it? He was cutting papers for a teacher and another student distracted him. I was trying to warn him that his finger was in the way but wasn't quick enough.

So cute and awesome! Shocked
Now I have a strong urge to make myself one, though I'm not sure what I'd use it for.
26  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / How to ask a person to do a personal swap? on: May 13, 2017 12:28:24 AM
I know Craftster doesn't support personal swaps and that if you choose to do one that you're on your own and out of luck if your partner flakes, etc., etc.
And I'm totally fine with that.
But can anyone give me help with what to say to ask someone to swap?
There's no rush: I've just gotten an idea for a project and I don't have much time for crafting these days since I have a very active 13 month old that wants to get into EVERYTHING so it'll probably be a while before I'm done. (I'm actually pushing back a surprise for my husband to make this because I actually have all the supplies to make it whereas I'm short for some of the ones I need for his surprise.)
But there's a user (I won't say who in case they read this) who I thought "This person would probably love this. I wonder if they would do a personal swap?"
So I looked at their profile and they do personal swaps and I'd like to approach this person but have no idea what to say.
I'm socially awkward and have anxiety so I'm always at a loss for what to say, even in person with people that I know really well.
Any help is dearly appreciated.

Prompt: Big Time #1
Team: Fandom
Bonus Points: Community, Engineering
Project Name: Egon Spengler's jumpsuit from The Real Ghostbusters
Project Link: Here
Etsy user DGRequiem is holding a "franken-fashion" contest where the challenge is to create your own outfit using pieces from her patterns. I was going to do this anyway but the idea of having a chance to win free patterns made me get my butt in gear to get it done! Cheesy From start to finish it took about six hours to do this, if you include the drafting of the patterns from the patterns I had plus testing the patterns on muslin.

Thanks Cheesy
I'm thinking I'm going to use brushed out yarn for the reroot since I have some that's the right pale shade of yellow for his blonde hair. I just have to get a pet brush to brush it out, which I'm always forgetting when I go shopping, even if it's on my list (like today, lol) Roll Eyes

This project is only about 99% done but here it is:

It's Egon's jumpsuit from The Real Ghostbusters Grin Eventually, the doll wearing the costume will become Egon. And this outfit will be getting a redo to make it look nicer and to add the little details. The outfit got its own post here
