I got my september card in the mail today, and I am so proud of whoever sent it.I know how much courage to even say a secret like that to yourself, much less share it. So thank you.

13  Re: Robot Swap Round Two Gallery in The Swap Gallery by colie on: September 18, 2005 01:13:27 PM
Ok, I went out to get the paper this morning, and what do I see? A PACKAGE! Then, I felt silly as all heck because I realized that it is sunday, and that means that the package was there yesterday, and somehow i missed it.
But, it ended up being an awesome way to start the day!

These earings rock my world! I intend to take them off only when showering!

I also got a plethora of Robot related stationary....

a cute little bookmark (which has already found a home, taking the place of the starbucks reciept in my book)

a cute little foamy robot and a robot piture frame (which I stuck my little brothers basketball picture in, eityher implying that he also loves robots or that he IS a robot.... hmmm).

Thank you so much Flirtingwithdisaster! I love everything- this has been an awesome first swap!

14  Crayon Card in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by colie on: May 20, 2005 11:15:31 PM
I made these card for mothers day. Sorry I didnt post pics in time to help anyone looking for a mother's day card idea, but  this card technique is very adaptable to any occasion. I wish I could remeber where I got the idea, sorry.
Anyhow, I just melted some crayon shavings in between wax paper, microwaved it, then sandwiched it between pretty papers. Pretty simple.

15  The best kitchen accessory is a cute apron! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by colie on: May 18, 2005 01:57:47 AM
This particular apron was made out of a thrifted (and washed, of course) sheet- so I have plenty of fabric to make many more. The blue trim was a taffetta-ish material from someone else's prom dress, and the pockets are humungous eyelet, which was a bit too much as trim for me. On some future aprons I might use some smaller eyelet to trim out the bottom, but for now i used what i had. The stitching is a bit wonky and the pockets are lopsided, but it is fun and functional, so I am calling it a success.

16  Re: Retro Book Clutch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by colie on: May 18, 2005 01:48:09 AM
So, inspired by these clutches, among others, I tried my hand at a book clutch. I have to say, it went swell, and I plan on making a few more. The hardest part for me was finding a book that looked good enough to carry around, but wouldn't make me feel absolutely awful for destroying it. I finally settled on an outmoded diet book with a cute little embossing of an ice-cream sundae on the front.

You can't quite tell from the pictures, but I am also wearing some reading propaganda. an unintentional coincidence. "the sky is the limit with reading!" says the turtle reading a book, and tied to a balloon.
