1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Recycled Sweater Ornaments on: May 27, 2017 01:22:14 PM
These are made entirely from scrap. The felt is cut from wool sweaters. They are high wool content so they don't fray. They were washed several times in hot water to cause the felting. I bought them from the thrift store for $1.99 right before they realized crafters valued real wool and prices went up. I still have the majority of the felt and have no idea what to do with it. The stuffing for the dog is reclaimed organic cotton packaging which isn't quite as lofty as I thought. He's a little flatter than I wanted. I have two more puppies. I'm not sure if they should have eyes or maybe eyebrows.

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / Tiled Plant Caddy on: May 04, 2017 11:52:25 AM
I made this so my plants weren't sitting directly on the cement. It has repurposed wheels from a broken space heater or other small appliance. This is pretty self explanatory with some tutorials from the big box hardware stores. I didn't use the store bought sealant. I'm trying the old wax method just to see how it goes. In the bathroom, I end up redoing the sealant more than I'd like to.

4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Craft Swaps / ONGOING ATC SWAP -- May 2017 (Sign-ups open all month) on: May 01, 2017 02:56:15 PM

Artists: MissingWillow, bunny1kenobi, bunny1kenobi

The Gallery is HERE!

This is a fun and friendly swap, with your level of participation determined entirely by you, with a minimum of one card for the month. People of all levels of card making are welcome. Sign ups are open all month. Please make sure you are not late or flakey in any of your other swaps, and that you have good communication.

Artist trading cards can be made by anyone, from any material, with any method. The official card is the size of a rectangular baseball card, 2.5 by 3.5 inches done in a cardstock weight paper. This swap tends to openly interpret what that means. We have seen cards made from nature, sewn, woven, and knitted, pop ups, movables, mini books, stained glass, clay, and even a 4-d dollhouse room. Preferences can be mentioned when you make a claim.

Claims are made throughout the month.  You have two weeks from the time you make a claim to send that claim. Look at the date on the calendar, it is the date that is directly 2 rows down.

You can make one claim or as many claims as you want throughout the month as long as you never go over your allowed amount of outstanding claims. An outstanding claim is a card that has not been received; when that card is received your number of outstanding claims goes down. Remember that you must make one claim!

Claims are made using the following procedure:

Person A (the swap organizer) will begin the swap by posting a list of themes in this swap thread.
Person B will choose a theme from one of A's themes and make a claim by posting his/her own list.
Person C will make a claim on one of B's themes and post his/her own list.
Person D will make a claim on one of C's themes and post his/her own list etc...
This continues through the end of the month, when the swap organizer makes the final claim and closes out the claiming part of the swap.

The number of claims each person is allowed depends on the following criteria:

*Friends of Craftster: 10 claims
*Those who aren't Friends of Craftster: 7 claims
*New swappers (whether Friends of Craftster or not): 1 claim.  Once the initial claim has been received, and its new owner has reported it received, the new swapper is free to make more claims, either 7 or 10 dependent on being an FOC or not.

How to make a claim:
After being approved, make a claim like this! You are only claiming the person who was the last to post, for one card. You are allowed to send whatever extras you desire.

I claim FabSwapper for heffalumps.

3 claims, 2 sent, 1 received

I live in Massachusetts, USA.  I would prefer not to receive anything violent, political, religious, or with clowns.

My themes are:
1)   Bunnies in hats
2)   Bunnies with wings
3)   Twin bunnies
4)   Fluffy bunnies
5)   Gardens of carrots

Send a personal message to the person you have claimed and request their address.

Make the card and mail it. PM the organizer and partner when you send or receive a card. (This was in the original rules. I don't actually need the sent cards message if you find it hard to remember. It helps if cards get lost in the mail.)

Be sure and include (1) the "send by" date, as well as (2) the theme and (3)who sent it to (4)whom, in each message to the swap organizer, when you're referring to sent or received cards.

Subject: May Ongoing ATC Swap--SENT

Posting pictures of received ATCs is required for this swap. Please post pictures within 3 days or notify your partner that you cannot so they can share their work.

We like to keep things friendly and encouraging. Thank you's and helpful comments about the artwork can be posted in the gallery!

Positive feedback will be given when all of the cards you claimed have been received and you have posted pictures of the cards you received. If you are stuck without a space for a swap and are biting your nails waiting, just let me know and I will release you asap.

If you have any questions please post them in the Discussion Thread or PM the organizer, rockingbearranch.  This thread is specifically for claims only.

garlic clove, finely chopped
thyme, oregano, or basil, choose one of the peppery spices
butter or coconut oil

6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Easter / Trolls Princess Poppy Easter Egg on: April 08, 2017 05:26:04 PM
Here is my latest Easter Egg. I spray painted pastel pink faux fur to make the hair.

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Scottish Pleated Purse on: April 06, 2017 11:02:27 AM
This is a handbag that I recently made for a swap. The inside isn't pleated. It has a canvas fabric lining and a simple pocket. I didn't think to take a picture of the interior. The brooch clips on.

8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Recycled Daggar on: April 06, 2017 10:41:53 AM
This is made from old chicken wire and a popsicle stick. Also wood glue, silver and black paint, and poly clear coat.

9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Easter / Cornish Pixie - Harry Potter Egg on: April 03, 2017 05:10:55 PM
This was inspired by a few of images of the Harry Potter Cornish Pixie. It is watercolor pencil with permanent marker. I made a mistake and grabbed the wrong black outline marker so it bled a little from the poly spray. I still found him creepy charming. It is one of my smallest home grown eggs. The background cream color is actually the egg's color.

10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Easter / Minion Bob Easter Egg on: April 03, 2017 04:55:48 PM
I made this a while ago but never made a post here for it. I just watched Trolls so I plan on doing more cartoon themed eggs. I used various pencils and paints to get the correct colors and then sealed it with poly spray. I didn't have a full set of anything with all the right colors. It is a home grown farm egg. It is smaller and rounder.
