11  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: One Tiny Stuffie Round 10 Gallery on: May 22, 2017 02:44:54 PM
The trilobite beetle is vinyl. I was wandering around the fabric store fingering all the vinyls and other specialty fabrics trying to find something I would be able to sew with my machine. I found the best material for $37 dollars a yard! Still too rich at 4" or whatever the least amount you can buy is. So vinyl. I found out that sewing on top of a paper pattern (hand drawn) worked best. I had the least amount of creep that way and the paper tore easily. I am so glad Bruce came together so well, I had him all planned, but left the making to the last minute. I know none of the rest of you EVER do that!  Roll Eyes But it all worked! With lots of glue to help.

Bruce is happy to have a  new home.

That is the friendliest, cutest Catthulu I've ever seen...if I've ever seen one. They must be incredibly rare.

what a neat trick to food saver the stuffie. I would have never thought of that.

Sent and mail to Canada is not fast and reliable. The only package that was ever lost was to Canada, and both countries blamed the orher. But I'm just going to have faith.

I received from milksmom yesterday. She took my otter theme (my grandson's patronus is an otter). Otters are hard to find as stuffed animals or plastic figures, these little creatures are fun loving, but shy.

She made two, one was too big she said, I'm glad, 'cause I get two, but I never include the tail in the measurements. Which is why, when she gets her stuffie, it may look a bit bigger than it should.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

But look at these little guys. So sweet, and such beautiful crocheting. They are made out of wool with bead eyes and even have little shell critters for lunch. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I finished my first swap two weeks ago (yea!) and am itching to do another. Hopefully I'll get feedback in time to join this one.

Yay! Swaps are addictive. A wonderful way to try new things, show off, and get something in return...usually something that blows you away. The best kind of fun. Let's see, you can sign up for how many swaps at a time now? I always forget.
