How about something like this plastic tablecloth backdrop in red and green?  https://rainonatinroof.com/2013/05/diy-party-backdrop-tutorial-cheap-easy/

Do either of you have Christmas decorations that might work like big red bows, green table clothes or white lights? Can you make a piata? That should be almost free to make. Just keep it on a table as decor instead of breaking open. Does Walmart have straw sombreros that you could decorate? Felt is cheap, you could make Mexican wrestling masks!
I like your idea of tissue balls, they would be festive hung up!

5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: How do you organize your craft supplies??? on: April 24, 2017 08:41:26 AM
Thank you for the kind words of encouragement. This is a big project for me and it's really nice to share!
I invested in a cheap label maker which is awesome and I would totally recommend for anyone trying to organize their craft space. Turns out I have an abundance of under utilized clear plastic shoe boxes which stack nicely on the shelves I put up in the closet. Everything is labeled so as I'm sorting I have places to put things away. I also moved in a dresser that wasn't being used and am using that for bigger things. For my fabric I got Ziploc x-large storage totes which fit in the closet nicely. Hard sided bins wouldn't have worked at all.
Pictures of my progress so far to keep me motivated by sharing.
Also including a picture of shame so you can help hold me accountable if I don't get this mess under control by the end of the week! Suggestions and encouragement welcome!

Great inspiration in this tread to getting my new craft room set up. My current craft room became the catch-all so I'm cleaning and organizing as I move everything into the smaller new craft room. So excited to get everything moved. First thing I did was shelves in the closet. Tore out the old stained carpet and got a new to me Persian rug, and moved in my tables.

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Alter Pattern Sleeves? on: April 08, 2016 05:52:54 AM
I'm making the jacket from this Simplicity 5746 pattern, view "E." http://www.amazon.com/Simplicity-Wardrobe-Sleeveless-Cardigan-Camisole/dp/B00KTI2S0S  I'd like to flare the sleeve out and make it a bell sleeve adding about 4" to the wrist circumference.  I'm thinking I need to add (2)  slashes to the sleeve pattern from the elbow to the wrist.  Does that sound right?  If not what would be the best way to do the adjustment?  I'm using a lightweight suiting material if that makes a difference.
Thanks!
