I love Teesha Moore patches. I just looked up her videos and it definitely seems right up my alley. Smiley Thanks for the idea.

Let me just nudge you a wee lil' bit here:

These swaps seem to happen pretty regularly Wink.

Pushed me you did! I tried to make my first Moore patch. I used a small quilt block made from scraps and used up some beads from my stash so I think it fits in this destash thread ok.

2  Mask of Red Death and ideas for Halloween 2017 in Halloween Costumes by SuzyScissor on: May 16, 2017 07:33:56 PM

This is my costume from last year. It was inspired by Poe's "The Mask of the Red Death." Now I'm brainstorming ideas for this year. Ideas welcome.

How wonderful is this circus lion by Nooo! The firey feather mane, rainbow crochet body, and moveable legs are all awesome. I'm so lucky to have such a great partner! Thank you!! Now I just need to name him.

Thank you for the kind words of encouragement. This is a big project for me and it's really nice to share!
I invested in a cheap label maker which is awesome and I would totally recommend for anyone trying to organize their craft space. Turns out I have an abundance of under utilized clear plastic shoe boxes which stack nicely on the shelves I put up in the closet. Everything is labeled so as I'm sorting I have places to put things away. I also moved in a dresser that wasn't being used and am using that for bigger things. For my fabric I got Ziploc x-large storage totes which fit in the closet nicely. Hard sided bins wouldn't have worked at all.
Pictures of my progress so far to keep me motivated by sharing.
Also including a picture of shame so you can help hold me accountable if I don't get this mess under control by the end of the week! Suggestions and encouragement welcome!

Great inspiration in this tread to getting my new craft room set up. My current craft room became the catch-all so I'm cleaning and organizing as I move everything into the smaller new craft room. So excited to get everything moved. First thing I did was shelves in the closet. Tore out the old stained carpet and got a new to me Persian rug, and moved in my tables.

Slowly coming along. At some point the chandelier was taken down from the main hall and stored in the attic covered with a sheet to protect it from the dust. I'll need to get a better photo, I beaded it by hand. The floorboards in the attic are rotting through as the roof shingles have long been lost. The wallpaper in the hall is peeling off it's layers. The living room is dark as all the windows have been sealed with cement blocks or painted over to help prevent unwanted intruders. Next to add a front door...or maybe just plywood and graffiti it like the front porch?

Ludi your castle is awesome, it reminds me of the Italian Presepe. Good to have someone who knows what they're doing to help with the lights! I started to play around with LED lights from the dollar store, they have clip on book lights which are fairly easy to take apart and splice the wire as needed, although it sounds like whatever you end up with will be more refined. Smiley

I've been slowly working through trial and error, a lot of errors and starting over (especially with the stairs!) I finally got the tree done, outside portion, a branch is going to be growing in through a window upstairs which needs to be finished.

Another boring in progress detail pic...inspiration pics on the left (top personal, bottom from http://m.imgur.com/a/ImCht) I was excited when my husband brought home oranges, the mesh bag was perfect for adding the criss-cross pattern to the windows!
