The fabric was an inspired choice. It looks beautiful and very stylish.

Great style you've used. I especially like the way you bent the speech bubble around.

Karl's so funny.

Hi. New member here, so I thought I'd start by posting some of my past projects.

I started making these a while ago at the request of someone at regretsy (hence the single ear on some of them). Then I made a bunch more for the regretsy charity and to send to any friend who wanted one. I have a huge stash of interesting fabrics I thought would be good to make more, though I want to branch out into other animals.

I made the little one for my friend and then the bigger, squishier one for her little son.

Another one I made bigger and softer. I used safety eyes for it as well since embroidery wouldn't show up much in that fur.

Edited: for more elephant
144  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Craft 4 Cats: The Animal Welfare League of Queensland on: May 03, 2012 02:39:04 AM
The AWLQ is doing a project called Craft 4 Cats. http://www.awlqld.com.au/get-involved/craft-for-cats/

Basically, crafty people such as yourselves make cat softies (they have patterns or you can make your own) and then other people adopt the softies and the money raised goes to helping rehome real live cats.

To quote their site:

Our hand-made Softies will be available to adopt through our website from the start of Winter 2012. As the Winter progresses, and more people join the project, there will be more and more Softies to choose from.

Each Softie will come with its very own adoption certificate, which will detail its name, who it was made by, where it was made and from what materials it is made.

All the money raised through our Craft 4 Cats project with go towards improving AWLQs cat rehoming facilities, making it more comfortable for our beautiful adoptable adult cats and getting the facilities ready for the influx of unwanted kittens as it nears Summer 2012.
