11  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Junk Journals on: March 27, 2017 05:11:23 AM
Is there any interest in another junk journal swap?
Previous swap --> https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=448091.0

I've been using my previous junk journals to store ATCs and  am running out of room and need another journal  Grin

Although I am thinking of it not necessarily being a "mini" junk journal.  Personally I'd like one about 8"x10".  Maybe we can have a range and let people specify their size.

12  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Mixed Media Canvas on: March 17, 2017 09:59:32 AM
I've seen some mixed media that used paint brushes as part of the art work and I've always liked that look.

Like this

and this

So I recently made my own piece.  Lots going on - gesso, texture paste, mod podge, lace, ribbon, book pages, die cuts, doilies, lots of paint, white gel pen.
I was pretty happy with it and it was a lot of fun to make.

13  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Small Harry Potter themed shrine on: March 09, 2017 11:42:42 AM
I made this small shrine for a friend.  The base is a mini crate I stained.
Hedwig and the books are made from clay.  Since that was the majority of my time I decided to put this in the polymer clay forum.
Each feather was made individually.  It seemed like a good idea before I started!  Cheesy

The potions are mini bottles with paint

spell and potion books made with clay and covered with printed labels

the outside covered in ribbon and fancy paper

14  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Puppycat on: March 09, 2017 11:25:59 AM
I made this hoopla for a friend based off the animated web series "Bee and Puppycat".

I don't do a lot of embroidery so when I do it's usually slow going, otherwise my thread is just a jumbled mess.  Me and thread have issues  Grin
The shading is colored pencil.

Make one (large) piece of assemblage art for your partner.
Assemblage is the making of 3D (or 2D!) art that oftens involves using found objects

*** Large based on effort, not necessarily size:

Craftster guidelines:

By Time
-Large = 3 or more hours

By Size
-Large = A shawl, a shirt, a skirt, a set of jewelry with four to five items, a purse

By Price
-Large = $30 or more

We will not be listing themes for this swap in order to give everyone some artistic license in making their piece of art. Please be open to wherever the muse takes your partner and give yourself freedom to play and create ART!! But please keep in mind your partner's absolute dislikes on the questionnaire.

Make sure that your art is wrapped with care for for shipping!! It's always disappointing to receive a broken item.

Here are some posts that have samples of assemblage art:
