21  Mixed Media Canvas in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by geekgirl1000100 on: March 17, 2017 09:59:32 AM
I've seen some mixed media that used paint brushes as part of the art work and I've always liked that look.

Like this

and this

So I recently made my own piece.  Lots going on - gesso, texture paste, mod podge, lace, ribbon, book pages, die cuts, doilies, lots of paint, white gel pen.
I was pretty happy with it and it was a lot of fun to make.

22  Re: 4 x 6 Art Swap February 2017 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by geekgirl1000100 on: March 12, 2017 03:31:10 PM
That sun Onyxnox received is so bright and colorful!
Cute monster Kwality - your shading looks really good.
Love the quote on the outer space one from smmarrt
Lovely watercolor/ink from rockingbearranch
whatthepuck - that galaxy is so sparkly!
That fox face is so cute.
Wow BigBangMomma - that's a really bright watercolor.  Mine never turn out that bright.

My 2nd partner received so I thought I would go ahead and post a pic of what I made.  It's a mixed media piece with a little bit of everything.  There's modeling paste, stencils, paint, ink, puzzle pieces, etc on a brown cardboard background.  I don't normally let the cardboard show through when I use it as a base but I liked the looks of it peeking through on this piece.

23  Small Harry Potter themed shrine in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by geekgirl1000100 on: March 09, 2017 11:42:42 AM
I made this small shrine for a friend.  The base is a mini crate I stained.
Hedwig and the books are made from clay.  Since that was the majority of my time I decided to put this in the polymer clay forum.
Each feather was made individually.  It seemed like a good idea before I started!  Cheesy

The potions are mini bottles with paint

24  Puppycat in Needlework: Completed Projects by geekgirl1000100 on: March 09, 2017 11:25:59 AM
I made this hoopla for a friend based off the animated web series "Bee and Puppycat".

I don't do a lot of embroidery so when I do it's usually slow going, otherwise my thread is just a jumbled mess.  Me and thread have issues  Grin
The shading is colored pencil.

27  Re: 50 Projects More or Less...2017...Let's Create and Have Fun! in Craftalongs by geekgirl1000100 on: February 14, 2017 07:13:52 PM
I have actually made head-way into one of my projects and it's still early in the year!

one of my goals this year was to use up some the the many notepads/notebooks/journals I have collected.

Here are some of them.  There are lined notebooks, sketchpads, junk journals of all sizes, etc.

I wanted to start storing my ATCs I've collected in a better way so I decided to start putting them in junk journals I have gotten in swaps.  This idea kind of takes care of 3 goals: store all my ATCs from over the years, use up some of my washi tape stash, and make use of some of my journals.  Each ATC is in a plastic card sleeve and then I used washi tape to tape them into the journals.  I've filled up 2 journals so far (they are on the smaller side).  I've found really washi tape works better than plastic deco tape.  The plastic tape tends to come off.

Here is one journal and a few pages before I put in the ATCs:

And here are a few pages with the ATCs:

Next up is the junk journal I got from LimeRiot in the mini junk journal sawp last summer.
The original photos are here

Here is the book stuffed full of ATCs!

Here are a few of the pages with ATCs:

I have claimed 2 small blank journals to store my inchies and twinches but I don't have as many of those and haven't filled those books up yet.

hahaha - mug shots.  that is awesome.

I received from bec99 for my butterfly theme.  I think I finally found the one spot in my house that produces the least glare on pocket letter pics!
It's so bright and colorful!  Very pretty.

and all the goodies in the back.

Thanks bec99!  (I'm going to have to "borrow" your penpal survey for my next PL)

I received a pretty PL from Alexampersandra!  She combined my butterfly and purple themes.

Here it is with all it's glorious glare!  lol.  So hard to photograph these things.

And I took the pockets out to get an unglared pic

It's hard to make out but on the left side of each pocket it's not just a doodle - it's different words for butterfly.

Here are the goodies, still keeping to the purple theme Smiley

I've already drank the really yummy vanilla caramel tea

Thanks Alexampersandra!
