1  God Save the Queen! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by sanchia on: November 09, 2006 04:35:20 AM

Being one of a few Brits in Australia I decided it was time to be patriotic and celebrate my Queen...
(I know the Queen of England is also the Queen of Australia...but...it made sense at the time...)

Before it was just a plain denim skirt... and after I attacked it with my free machine embroidering it was a hot pink tribute to home. I free handed it, so it's a little messy but unless you look closely you can't really see.

The words are kind of on the right hip. I love that pink thread, I have been waiting so long to use it on something!

Thanks for looking Cheesy

2  No Love, No Hope 6-Hour Corset in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by sanchia on: November 09, 2006 04:27:24 AM

So my six hour corset making started at about 11am, and I'm pretty happy with the results Cheesy. (Ignore the loose threads hanging down the bottom, they are gone now!)

I got the No Love, No Hope thing from a user on here, who has a tattoo of it on her wrists.. can't remember the name but Thanks! Good inspiration, couldn't think what else to write on it!

This it the front of it, which I'm going to add boning too, to make it more structured.

And this is another shot of the words on the back. I free machine embroidered them on, hence them being not so perfect (free hand needling is a nightmare :S)

Well I'm going to hit the dancefloor with it tommorrow night on its maiden voyage.. hopefully it will be good and stay up...I know what strapless tops are like... Undecided

Thank for looking - any comments will be mucho appreciated! x

3  Its the Rip and Tear Bag.. in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by sanchia on: December 21, 2005 06:15:08 AM
Here is my Rip and Tear bag I made..

I made a series of little bags (following the wonderful tutorial by thejordy- thanks!). This one was made with scrim over newspaper. I free machine embroidered the words and ziggy bits over it then attacked it with scissors. You can't see the tears on the photos but they are there! Then I went over with oil pastels to make the brown bits.  Cheesy

4  Corset Top & Pictures, My first post! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by sanchia on: April 29, 2005 07:13:58 AM
This is my first post here, so apologies if I mess up with the picture uploading (its taken me ages to work it out!). I'm doing Textiles for A-level and I made this corset last year for the theme 'Winter Whites'. I strayed from the theme a bit but thats because I love pink so much  Cheesy.
I followed a pattern for a wedding corset top but I emboridered and dyed the panels to make it look better.

This one ^ is of the front of the corset.

This is a close up of the bottom front of the corset. Its a shame my camera is a bit harsh because you can't see that its layers of sheers and silks loosely free-machine embroidered.

I'm so annoyed though because I followed the pattern for a Size 8 but its come out so big its more like a Size 12..so it just hangs up in my room for people to see but I can't actually wear it!!
