awesome! craft shows, yay! make a website or myspace or livejournal or something! and take photos on the 3rd!! I don't know any other crafters in Florida so I'd love to come, but I've never driven over to Tampa before, so even though it's not far (considering how big Florida is!) I want to make sure it's worth it, you know?

Grandma Party Bazaar 10am April 22nd- Earth Day- at Stardust Video and Coffee in Orlando. I found the info here- myspace.com/grandmaparty

It's not MUCH info though. Did anyone go to the last one?  (Back in December I think?) I just learned about it for the first time myself... It's an 'artisan fair'. I wonder if it's good! It's too late to get a table but I would like to go check it out .

Hello!  I just moved to Orlando from NJ and I'm looking to meet local crafting gals!  I've been looking into monthly 'craft club' meetings. Anybody interested?

I'd love to do that!  What crafts do you do?

That would be cool!

Where are the volusia county fairgrounds? Daytona? Just wondering how far away it would be from me if I were to participate.. I live in seminole county. But I have been hoping an indie designer/crafty show would pop up in central florida sometime, so keep us updated!

I would suggest you pick up an Orlando Weekly once you are down here. They are the free weekly paper available at many local restaurants and shops, should be easy to find, but if you have trouble hit up a coffeeshop or something. Anyway, then you can look up all the current events going on, to check listings for shows, plays, and whatever else.

Crafts n Stuff is a chain with various locations, the one near me is on 434 in Waterford Lakes. It's sorta like a Michael's but being taken over by scrapbooking.  I usually just go in to check the clearance.
The one on 17-92 is probably the Sewing Studio?
Does anyone know anything about the 'Starving Artists Studio' on 434 in Winter Springs, or this place called the Crafts Studio or something? That second one, dunno if I have the name right, it's in the Winter Springs 'village' kinda thing with a Publix by the Barnie's, and I have no clue what it is.

Sam Flax is probably my favorite art store, it's on E. Colonial and Shire in "Colonialtown"- across from the cool looking Publix.  As lainasalvo said there is also the Pearl on 436. And there is also Art Systems. I don't know about Pearl but the other two give discounts to students.

I wish we had a good yarn shop. I heard the one in Mount Dora was nice, but I've never been.

A good place for sewing stuff that you can't find anywhere else would be Sewing Studio on 17-92.

And beads! I like the bead store on Edgewater Drive, I can't remember the name. I new store called the Bead Basket opened up across from UCF- the University/Alafaya intersection...it's near me so I need to check it out but I haven't yet.

Due to lack of money I do most of my shopping for ALL craft stuff at JoAnn's and Michaels with the 40% coupons in the paper every Sunday, or the ones JoAnn's sends in the mail- be sure to sign up for the ml. And yep, the craft shop at Waterford is called Crafts n Stuff. Sometimes they have coupons too. I just can't afford anything at full price! arr!

I would be interested! And I maaay be able to find a couple others to join as well. I wonder what's a good location? Due to problems with my hands I had to cut back on knitting a lot, but I used to bring my knitting everywhere!
