Wow, those are all so gorgeous! I think there might be a quilting thread in sewing... I'm not sure, though. Everyone seems to link to their stuff, so I'm sure it's allright. Wow... I'm still in awe of your stuff...

805  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: CD and floppy disk candle holder!!! on: November 01, 2005 06:02:03 AM
A few of those in a circle would make a really cool centerpiece for a table. We get a new oven on Thurs., so maybe I'll try one, too...
806  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: Show me your craft "room"!! on: October 31, 2005 10:23:34 PM
I had to keep resizing the pictures, so they aren't that good, but here it is::

I have a lot of crap in those bins under the tables. The lightbox my boyfriend just made for me is under the table to the right. I got that little rolling cart for $2 at a yard sale, bf made the table on the right for me.

I sew at the white table ( found it on the side of the road), I have to cover my machine to protect it from cat hair, my thread is on the wall above the desks, my record player is to the left, vintage magazines on the shelves above.

My binding machine and supplies on top shelves, under that(the black blur) is all of the paper scraps I've been bringing home from work. Fabric in the corner, fabric on cart, that's paint in the wire thing on my desk w/ crochet hooks in the utensil tray on top of the wire thing(yellow blur). Pens, pencils, and paintbrushes in the white things on the wall.

It's pretty blurry, but this corner is where I keep my cigar box collection(shelves on the right), the baskets on the floor hold clothes to be reconstructed & one has hook rug supplies in it, the peel-apart guy my boyfriend got when they were throwing it away at a school he worked at, books, fabric....

More crap on shelves (free at yardsale), my Mr.T Snoopy in the background, craft books, the dressform my friend found on the side of the road. I recovered it with some knit fabric using hot glue and I replaced the wingnuts on the inside, then it was good to go!
I hope you enjoyed the tour, sorry about the quality of the pictures!

That's exactly what I was wondering...
808  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Sailor Jerry swap? on: October 31, 2005 07:24:31 PM
I think that would work for me, my sendout date for the Elvis one s 11.27, so it shouldn't interfere. Yay!
809  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: A Crafty Jew's Crafty Tattoos! on: October 31, 2005 06:46:05 AM
That is something that I haven't thought about in years, so I Googled it, and the answer that came up the most was: Leviticus 19:18 "One should not slash the body as a mark of mourning for the dead, and one shall not make tattoos on the skin." I can just picture myself doing the same thing almost ten years ago, reading what I had just Googled, shrugging, and getting the tattoo anyway. Some Rabbis argue that it's just words on the skin that is forbidden, or pictures of idols, or this, or that- there are so many different views on this subject! It is definitely not looked upon with favor, though, so I hide them out of respect when I'm around  my relatives or if I go to a religious function.

Yeah, it's my arm. I forgot I changed my picture. I think I'm going to get my Lambretta tattooed in the star patch on my shoulder, but I can't decide. I want another tattoo so bad, though. It's been just about a year since I got my last one. Maybe I'll get the dreidels for Hanukkah...
