851  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Carnivorous plants swap? on: July 12, 2014 07:43:33 PM
How long will the sing-up time be? I think I might be able to pull this off in between travels (will be home for a total of one week during the crafting time Tongue) if we get our partners soon after sign-ups. But maybe that won't be a problem if this is a small swap?

Oh, maybe a week and a half?  So that would be what, August 6th?  I guess that would push the due date out a week too huh?  So that would mean it would be due Saturday, August 30?  (I like Saturday due dates.)  Obviously, I'm new at this and a bit in-over-my-head, but hey it's the best way to learn to swim right? Artsycandice, that will give you a bit more time!

Absolutely! This would be tons of fun!  I'm thinking preserves, salves, aprons, quilts, knits, leather work, tribal jewelry, the list is endless!

Okay, so I've read up on all the organizing stuff, and I think I've understood enough to not completely mess everything up.  I'd like to start sign-ups Wednesday July 23, and have a send out of either Saturday, August 16th or Saturday, August 20th.  If no one has a preference, I'll probably choose the 20th.  Swap will be for either one Large, or one Med and one Small.  Does that sound doable to everyone?  I'm not expecting a large sign-up, but I'm hoping for at least 10 folks so please feel free to rally and recruit!

Also, I'm working on the questionnaire so let me know if you have any suggestions.   Grin

Acadian Driftwood, I'm honored to be the recipient of your very first maq!  I hung it up in my craft area/office, and it brings me much joy.   Grin

DaphadillyArt, I love all that crochet goodness.  The mushrooms are adorbs!

Ludi, you never fail to amaze.  I love everything, and I'm particularly in love with the teeny, tiny snail.

Whenindoubtsew, I love the pincushion(?) and those lovely dolls!

Suereal, I love your sculptures!  And whaddaya know, you managed to make something non-creepy!  I love how the fairy wings are seed pod thingies.

Look at all that lovely batik fabric!  I love, love the purse!  Where did you find that fabric?  I actually have an excuse to buy fabric now that I've finally conquered my fear of sewing machines.   Grin

Congratulations for conquering you sewing machine fears! *Round of applause* Grin

I'm so happy you like it!! She was such a beauty and was hard to send away. I also love the quarter for reference picture lol. I like to do close ups to show detail but it does not convey how tiny they are  Smiley Here's a picture I took to show the color better.

So pretty!
Feel free to claim me for this theme as much as you'd like! Ahem,...I wouldn't mind.   Grin

BriannaB, I love those quilt squares!  I've recently been converted to a quilt fan.  It's so amazing to me how you ladies can sew such small pieces of fabric together with such precision.  The few times I've tried sewing anything there was a lot of puckering, warping, and wonkiness going on.

Wow, wow, wow, and more wow!!  So much squee worthy stitching, my pinning finger is cramping!  I'm suuuuper impressed with all of these.  Of course you know I love all the buggies the best!  Cheesy  I feel honored that the lovely monarch is mine all mine! Some of my other faves are the dandelion, the tree, the mormon butterfly, and the black lacewing-looking bug with white wings!
