After all this time in Virginia BEACH, Aurora finally got to go to the beach! Of course, it was starting to rain and I was worried about getting towed and it's going to be rather cold later, but still... the beach!
This is next to the Old Coast Guard Station... several pieces of ships on permanent display outside.
24th Street is my favorite place to access the beach. There's the Old Coast Guard Station (on the left), a little park and stage with live music in the summer (on the right) plus the best candy store around and a Walgreens, for souvenirs and necessities. This shows the boardwalk (clearly no longer made of boards) and if I'm not mistaken, the little hurricane symbol to the left of the street number means it's meant to help prevent flooding during hurricane season. (Seems to work, at any rate... during any given hurricane that actually hits us, you'll see the weatherpeople down there filming and some idiot is windsurfing down the boardwalk.)
This one's my favorite... just Aurora and the beach! It was too cold to go down to the water... I'm dedicated to getting a good LV shot, but not quite that dedicated!
Now that I have beach photos, I think I can finally finish Aurora's scrapbook!!!
