1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Traveling Little Visitor Swap Round 25 Gallery on: April 19, 2017 05:27:14 AM
We didn't do anything Easter-y (which I feel a little bad about, seeing as how my LV is a bunny) but Rosie did find one heck of an egg!

I did a cosplay program for teens at the library on Saturday with a new friend who makes resin pieces for cosplay. She was practicing with making dragon eggs and gave me this one... which Rosie was very impressed with! (I can also put a light inside and it glows purple!)

Rosie already got to go on her first real adventure with us, to Richmond (well, just outside of Richmond) for a wedding!

First, to get to Richmond, we need to go through the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel!

The wedding was at a property owned by a winery in New Kent, so we took a peek at the grapes.

On our way home (around midnight) we stopped at the rest area to see the "Virginia Is for Lovers" sign. (Can you see her?)

Rosie arrived yesterday in Virginia Beach... during a tornado warning! Not only that, but our second tornadic storm in a week, which is extremely unusual for us. (We do the hurricane thing, not the tornado thing.) But it was bright and sunny by the time I got her!

She has Instagram: www.instagram.com/rosiethelv

As with many of the LVs I've hosted, Rosie had to sneak up on Gimli to introduce herself, because he was very interested in biting her, which is quite rude.

(The photo refuses to flip for me, but you can see it right-side-up on Rosie's Instagram.)

Really quick! This is Rosie and she will be my travel bunny!

Omg what a cutie! I can't wait to host her!  Grin

Anana is home, and he brought a great many things back with him from his stay with Eamea!!!

In no particular order, you're seeing: a Mario-themed pillowcase (under everything else), a couple ampersands (I can never have enough!) and so many magnets (the mousetrap things are magnets that hold notes and I can't wait to put them to use!!!), chocolate from Bissinger's (who, the note says, have been making candy in St Louis since 1927, wow!), a beautiful little pendant, an Egyptian zippered pouch and bookmark (Bastet explains why my cat didn't want to get off of the box to let me open it...) and, see it right in the middle? A GORGEOUS glass ornament!!! The light in the photo doesn't do it justice, but it's red and clear stripes like a candy cane and it's beautiful! Also from Cairo.

(Also, please excuse the mess in the background. I have not yet done my nightly tidy-up, because I was too excited to share with you guys!)

Thank you Eamea! Clearly, Anana was in great hands and had a wonderful time!

I don't mind repartnering either, but I don't know how interesting it will be for my partner! There's a pretty solid chance I'll be moving out of state (don't know where, depends on husband's residency match!) next summer (2018), so that will be a good time for me to repartner!

Anana isn't quite back from his last trip yet and I'm already signing him up to head out again!  Cheesy

Here's a photo of him from last round, around Christmastime:

Okay... everybody who boxed everything up, taped it shut, then turned around and saw their LV staring back at them, raise your hands! /raise

But after resolving the minor detail of actually putting Aurora INSIDE the box, she is on her way back home!

After all this time in Virginia BEACH, Aurora finally got to go to the beach!
MWHAHAHA I *JUST* did the same thing. After being here in FLORIDA with literally MILES and MILES of beachfront (we're kinda famous for it!) I finally ran down and got Alby and Splash a little beachfront view this week!  Grin Cheesy

Great minds think alike!  Wink

I procrastinated HARD on the scrapbook for this round but that's what same-day photo pickup at Walgreens is for, right? I have everything else ready... pages, souvenirs, a box... just need the photos. Luckily, husband is on call tonight so I have a quiet evening alone to tie up the loose ends!

After all this time in Virginia BEACH, Aurora finally got to go to the beach! Of course, it was starting to rain and I was worried about getting towed and it's going to be rather cold later, but still... the beach!

This is next to the Old Coast Guard Station... several pieces of ships on permanent display outside.

24th Street is my favorite place to access the beach. There's the Old Coast Guard Station (on the left), a little park and stage with live music in the summer (on the right) plus the best candy store around and a Walgreens, for souvenirs and necessities. This shows the boardwalk (clearly no longer made of boards) and if I'm not mistaken, the little hurricane symbol to the left of the street number means it's meant to help prevent flooding during hurricane season. (Seems to work, at any rate... during any given hurricane that actually hits us, you'll see the weatherpeople down there filming and some idiot is windsurfing down the boardwalk.)

This one's my favorite... just Aurora and the beach! It was too cold to go down to the water... I'm dedicated to getting a good LV shot, but not quite that dedicated!

Now that I have beach photos, I think I can finally finish Aurora's scrapbook!!!
