101  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / T-Rex tee on: December 16, 2013 06:30:08 PM
My little dinosaur fanatic will be getting this t-shirt for Christmas!

102  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Carpe Diem t-shirt on: December 15, 2013 06:39:46 AM
I'm one of those uber geeks who would rather say "Carpe Diem" than "Sieze the Day".  And my son is the same way... so I painted this t-shirt for him for Christmas.

103  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Hunger Games necklace on: December 15, 2013 06:37:31 AM
I made this for my daughter for Christmas.  It's a quote from The Hunger Games: "Remember, we're madly in love, so it's all right to kiss me anytime you feel like it".  (This is especially amusing coz she is constantly trying to get her boyfriend to kiss her, and whenever he gives in and does it, he makes funny faces like he's grossed out. It's hysterical!)  The quote is accompanied by a pearl, representing the pearl Peeta gives to Katniss.

104  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Amelia Peabody necklace on: December 15, 2013 06:35:29 AM
This pendant is inspired by my favorite Victorian badass lady, Amelia Peabody, and created for the Winter Nerd Battles. (Seriously - if you enjoy dry wit mixed with archaeology and mysterious deaths, you need to check out the book series by Elizabeth Peters!  SOOOOO GOOD!!)  She's an Egyptologist who has her own way of not putting up with any crap, and she's ♫...awesome..♫!!

Those of you who are archaeology geeks will already know this, so you can skip the following Egyptology blurb...   Wink    This domino choker depicts a wedjat eye, which was a token used to promote or protect good health.  The vulture and cobra (as evidenced by the crowns they are wearing) depict a royal personage who is ruling over both upper (Southern) and lower (Northern) Egypt.  So this would have been saying something like, "long live the Pharoah".   Cheesy

105  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Masquerade Ball swap on: December 11, 2013 08:45:24 AM

I'm thinking of this for spring and would love to know if there is any interest or if anyone has ideas on how to make this swap even more fun....

My thought is to have this be a secret swap.  One of the items should be a mask or mask-related object and the other(s) would be something... else. I'm thinking to maybe have a theme.  Any thoughts on this?  Renaissance Festival -type items?  Fairy tales? Phantom of the Opera?   Grin

Anyway, we would all "unmask" ourselves at the end of the swap.  This might work especially well if we sent our swap items without names (or usernames) on the return addresses, just the address only, and then have the "Reveal" later.  The organizer could even do the reveal if that would simplify things.  Then everyone basically finds out at the same time who had whom and who sent what.

Sound fun?  Sound hokey?  Input please!  Cheesy
106  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Naughty unicorn tee on: December 03, 2013 11:01:33 AM
I stenciled this tee for my brother for Christmas.  I scanned it a bit crooked, but it really is straight on the t shirt!  It will appeal to his slightly warped sense of humor!  Cheesy

107  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Zombie tee on: December 03, 2013 10:59:37 AM
I made this for my nephew for Christmas.  It is navy blue and I was impressed how well the gray of the lettering and hands coordinated with the gray accents on the collar and sleeve hems on the shirt.  Smiley

108  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Watercolor resist on: October 01, 2013 06:35:40 AM
I painted this picture of Jesus a couple of years ago, but recently sent it to a new home in the OPS swap.

109  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Merlin tee on: September 22, 2013 08:25:06 AM
I love love LOOOOVE Merlin!  And it doesn't hurt that there is so much eye candy on that show! *sigh* I miss it....

Anyway, I made this shirt for a fellow Merlinian in the Ongoing Pinterest Swap:

I like how it turned out so well that I think I'll make one for myself next...  Grin
110  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / An attack of the sillies.... on: August 28, 2013 06:53:20 AM
Participating in the summer nerd games has given me plenty of interesting crafting ideas.  This month the battle royale is Star Trek vs. Star Wars and I was having a hard time choosing which side I wanted to weigh in on.  This little sketchy-poo is the result:

My husband was quick to point out that Sheldon would not be amused.  Roll Eyes
