1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Knitty Cleaves! on: September 11, 2006 03:55:46 PM
Very pretty.  Do you find that it slips down alot?  I want to make something similar, but slipping would annoy me.

not as much as I feared it would, but if I made this again I would probably make the cowl a couple of ribs smaller.

I love working with lamb's pride bulky! Did you find it as lovely as I did?

BTW, that looks great!

Thanks! And yes, the yarn knit up really nicely - it's just too bad it itches!  T___T;;

LOL! Your version of the hat is great, goosezilla! Is that a seam between the main body section and the triangular part, and where did you get those eyes?

That looks good on you!  And I'm a little jealous at how slim you are.

Thankies muchly! I seem to be blessed with a really stable weight, it hasn't changed for almost ten years!

I have been in love with cleaves for so long... I really should get off my arse and make one. They're perfect for the oncoming Texas fall - (It's waaaay too cold inside, and gets really cool at night)

Well, I tried wearing them tonight - temperature was about 8 C - and my shoulders were rather cold. Then again, I've got somewhat less tolerance for cold than other people. I think the next thing I should do is make some kind of poncho or shrug.
Also, I found that the yarn is kinda itchy! AUGH! It's not intolerable, but it does make the cleaves a little less fun to wear. I think it might be the mohair in the Lamb's Pride yarn; next project I'll see what 100% sheep's wool might do to me.

it's lamb's pride bulky - exactly what it says on the pattern, only in red.

I'm sure there was a thread for this ages ago, but it took me so long to finish I'm making a new one. I nearly completed this thing a couple of months ago, but then I ran out of yarn with 8 stitches left to cast off!! >__<;; I finally ripped out the cast off and did it again a little tighter, and it was done! Huzzah!

eee~! I luv hermit crabs! I've got four right now - FSC, Troy, Ted and Mizuno. I named them all after comic book authors, starting with Crab Scrambly, but he died. T___T

OMFG! I've been trying to come up with a shrine idea that's really different - and I found this site! these are exactly the kind of things I'm going for; now I just have to find the base and the images for it!

Wow, all that stuff at the Silvercrow site has made me want to make a new shrine for myself! I have an older, not  terribly interesting shrine I made a long time ago that was never really dedicated to anything in particular. My only problem is that I still don't have anything in particular that I would want to dedicate a shrine to! Any suggestions?

Neat hat! what size needles did you use?

I knit it on 5mm needles with some leftover red heart super saver yarn. I think if i make another one, I'm gonna knit it a bit bigger - this one's kinda snug.
