81  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Paper and Mixed Media Craft-Along on: January 03, 2017 04:23:22 PM
Would cardmaking, journals, bookmaking, paper mache, origami, and scrapbooking be considered appropriate for this craftalong since they all involve paper?

Gala, do you have an Etsy store? Seems like you're going to need more than a few ways to clear the room, certainly well beyond your time to destash by crafting or even donating to worthwhile charities. I'm guessing that your Mom would be upset by clearing things out through a tag sale but selling through Etsy might not be as painful for her since she wouldn't see people walking away with her goodies.

Antidigger, at very least, your story may encourage us to sort and organize our stashes and to work on clearing our WIPs so it will be easier for our loved ones to clear out our things once we're gone or even when we just need to down-size.

Good luck to both of you!

Finished a WIP yesterday that is mostly white and, since it was started at least 4 or 5 years ago, it definitely needed to be cleared from my craft room. Will modify this post once I can post a photo.

85  Craft Swaps / ACTIVE SWAPS WHERE SIGN-UP PERIOD HAS CLOSED / Re: Rise of the Cougars Geezer Swap, Round 7 SIGNUPS 1/1/17-1/13/17, SENDOUTS 4/1/17 on: January 02, 2017 11:27:41 AM
I'm in, just need to complete the questionnaire. It's always so hard for me to come up with things I want: world peace, an end to hunger, poverty, and disease, more space in my craft room, none of which are things anyone can give me. I suppose a month long trip to Europe is out-of-the-question, too. Oh, well! I'll put my thinking cap on and get my questionnaire in soon.

Those tulle produce bags are wonderful. The only tulle in my stash is only about 6" wide, but I'm pretty sure I still have several pieces of netting. It wouldn't be as soft but it should work almost as well. May have to try that.

I was terrible about reducing my stash this past year. Instead it just seemed to keep growing and growing. But I did most of my projects fully from stash (anything I've had for at least a year or longer), so I DID try! I'll be playing along again this year. Maybe I'll do a better job this time.

To see my destashing projects from 2016 click on the 50 Projects tag at the bottom of my post.

Happy New Year to everyone! Let's get those creative juices going.
88  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: 50 Projects 2016---Busy Hands are Happy Hands! on: December 31, 2016 11:59:07 PM
I finished the year with 269 projects and I still have a number of WIPs awaiting just a few final steps. Guess they'll go on the 2017 list. I doubt if I'll accomplish as many projects this coming year since my first grandchild is due Jan. 4th. Lucky for me, DH and I are the designated babysitters once DD#2 goes back to work. I'm going to love that! And holding the baby won't leave me free hands for crafting, but that's okay.

I'll try to wind up my photo posts tomorrow just in case the baby arrives early. A blessed New Year to each of you and may your crafting karma never end.

I'd definitely be interested, Audio.
90  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Art tags/prompts swap - new year coming up - fresh inspiration?? on: December 26, 2016 07:50:55 PM
That's my understanding also, Wulf. I'm already thinking about themes and quotes. I don't journal but I can certainly use some inspiration for my cardmaking, so I'm really looking forward to this swap.
