1  Re: Rise of the Cougars Geezer Swap, Round 7 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by kbrison on: March 22, 2017 11:25:01 PM
I received a most wonderous package from Kittykill last week but haven't been able to post photos until now. My computer has been very uncooperative about letting me post photos. One day I can; then I can't for the whole next week. Aargh! First up are two sleds for my miniature Santa's Workshop. KK let me choose which designs I wanted, so naturally I went with Santa and Mrs. Claus. After all the hustle and bustle of Christmas, they like to relax by having some fun in the snow. If you could see these in person you'd realize that Kittykill almost needed a magnifying glass to stitch the designs.

Then she made a tote bag for all my craft projects. I crochet a lot and generally have multiple projects going at any one time, so there's no such thing as too many bags! Then she embellished the bag with one of her great embroideries! Birds and flowers always make me think of my mother. Mom was a great gardener and always had a ton of flowers growing in our yard. She was also my 4-H advisor for the bird watching club, so I come by my admiration for our feathered friends honestly. Note that Red Riding Hood has hitched a ride on the bag. She's a felt brooch that I had pinned on my pinterest boards. Love the surprise!

I also admit to being snarky sometimes when my cynical side pops out. Yeah, right! is one of the more common things you might hear me say, so Kittykill added that for me. Notice the bird's snarky smile. Love it! You've been a wonderful partner, Kittykill! Thanks so very much!

I tried out two new dessert recipes for a church dinner. Very fast and easy to make.
Philly 3-Step Lucious Lemon pie

Philly 3-Step Toffee Crunch Cheesecake & one of the green, leprechaun's hats I crafted.

3  Re: I Love Valentine's Day Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by kbrison on: February 08, 2017 03:33:47 PM
Sorry to be so slow to post photos especially when everything was so wonderful. We had a family member disappear Jan.30th. His body was found Sunday but his truck is still missing. We don't know if his truck is in a local lake or if it was stolen. Anyway, my mind has been in such a fog that I didn't realize I hadn't seen this gallery for awhile. I think my computer hates craftster because it keeps screwing up my notifications and won't always let me post photos.

I received from the fabulous kittykill almost a week ago. Hope you haven't given up on me posting, Pam. Photo bomb coming!
First, the really cute vintage style card

Then, a plush heart pillow that's larger than it seems in this photo

Kittykill made me a candy shrine using a box from one of her favorite Valentine candies plus it's the first shrine I've ever received! Lucky me!!!

Candy! I'm diabetic, so Kittykill tracked down sugarfree chocolate turtles (my favorite chocolate candy) and Lindt chocolates. There's also a lips sucker (like a ring pop). Yum! And she packaged the goodies in a sweet little mail box that she decorated for the holiday.

There was a package of chocolate dipped shortbread cookies, a rubber ducky that lights up, and a little pink pig suction toy. If I were a nicer person, I'd give the duck and the pig to my sis-in-law who collects pigs and rubber ducks. Nope! I'm keepin'  these!

Kittykill crafted a papercone for me, cute in its own right, but then she lined it with a vintage handerchief. I had told her that I like "snarky", thus the 'sucker' embroidery. A nearby town holds a Sucker Day annually because they were hoodwinked by a con man decades ago. Rather than let that get them down, they celebrate it every year. I think the last laugh was on the con man.

Finally, I got a large mug that's perfect for hot chocolate or a cappuchino plus a gorgeous example of Kitty's embroidery skills, a felt cup cozy decorated with a heart, flowers, and paisley motifs, all design elements I love.
Thanks, Kittykill! I was so lucky to finally have you as a partner. Lindy, thanks for organizing, in between your trips to Disney, of course!  Grin

4  Re: Paper and Mixed Media Craft-Along in Craftalongs by kbrison on: February 02, 2017 10:01:29 PM
My partner in the Valentine Swap has received, so now I can post the box card I made for Kittykill as well as the embellishments I made from the extra die cuts. Kittykill loves vintage, so I added paper doily fans, scalloped hearts, and vintage images I printed on cardstock. Loved making this card.

7  Re: 2016 Holiday and Card Swap - Gallery (send by Nov 10)... in The Swap Gallery by kbrison on: November 22, 2016 08:39:29 PM
I've been struggling with my computer for sometime to get these photos uploaded so I could post them. Isikkahjai created some really fun cards and tags for me. The string of Christmas lights that are all piled up is a VERY familiar sight and may be why I don't put lights outside any more. If I get the strings untangled, it never fails that half the lights go out the instant I put away the ladder.  Grin

The owls have done a great job decorating their tree, haven't they? Since owls play a major role in my not-yet-here grandbaby's room decor, that card will definitely be on his/her packages.

I haven't been nibbling on these tags. I swear I haven't! But I do like gingerbread.

Thanks, Isikkahjai! Sorry it took so long to get these posted.

8  Re: Sweat Shoppe ORNAMENT Swap Round 7 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by kbrison on: November 14, 2016 06:46:15 PM
OMG! I thought the adipose ornament looked cute in the photos but they're even cuter in real life . . . and it's little legs wiggle! Just awesome! Then he brought candy with him. How appropriate for a little critter made of fat. Thanks so much, griminspirations!

I also received my nativity ornament from Summer6061. I collect miniature nativities so this holds a special place in my heart and in my collection. She even packaged it in a beatifully ornate box so it would travel safely inside the shipping box. I plan to keep the box so I can safely store the ornament after Christmas. Thank you, Summer6061! I'll cherish this ornament because it's my first Craftster nativity.

9  Re: 2016 Holiday and Card Swap - Gallery (send by Nov 10)... in The Swap Gallery by kbrison on: November 09, 2016 08:42:18 PM
Bunny1kenobi sent an elegant set of cards that I adore. It's hard to tell but each has a shimmery metallic paper background printed with Christmas carols.

The cute tags bunny1kenobi sent.

And a close up of the Noel tag. It's absolutely gorgeous in real life with touches of gold, silver, and copper.

Thank you so much, bunny1kenobi!

10  Re: Sweat Shoppe ORNAMENT Swap Round 7 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by kbrison on: November 09, 2016 08:27:16 PM
I received my first ornaments today from quaggy and Bigbangmama. Quaggy's tree will join the ornaments she made for me last year. I'm getting quite a collection from her. At this rate I may soon be able to have a quaggy tree with just her works. Love them all! Bigbangmama and I have been swap co-organizers as well as swap partners, so I always love receiving things from her. Isn't the wreath just the cutest thing? The tiny lights aren't showing up well in this photo but they really add to the festiveness of the ornament. Thanks to both of you!
