1  Re: Stuff an Easter Basket Swap 3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Helena Puck on: April 22, 2017 10:46:17 AM
Mandit asked me to post of picture of what I sent. I imagine her little one was a lot like mine, ran off with the goodies before everything was taken out of the box. Unfortunately, I only snapped a picture of the cross stitch Quaker Easter Egg.

I received from Mandit. Here is a group shot. We decided to make baskets for the kids. She sent two tote bags, stenciled with their initials filled with goodies.

Along with candy and goodies, she made each of my boys handdrawn pictures frames including some of their favorite things. Simpsons, minecraft, Jubjubs from Neopets, and penguins.

The goodies included lots of fun things: a plastic dinosaur, a my little pony, mini block sets, kitten and puppy tattoos (my youngest LOVED it because he is currently obsessed with his cat), painting sets and wooden crosses to decorate, egg covers, and lots of candy.

She also made them each stenciled shirts: Mario and a penguin being carried away by a balloon.

Thank you Mandit! The boys loved everything! Sorry I didn't take better pictures. I had to snap them quick before the boys ran off with their goodies.

It was such a nice treat to come home to a great package for the boys after we found out my husband's cancer is completed gone!

3  Quaker Easter Egg in Needlework: Completed Projects by Helena Puck on: April 16, 2017 11:01:20 PM
I finally get to share this and on Easter no less!  Cool

I stitched this one for the Easter basket swap. It is called Quaker Easter Egg by Bent Creek. I stitch it on evenweave which I just discovered I absolutely love and want to use for everything.

As you can tell in the picture, I took progress shots. I worked on it for four days straight. I love the little designs and shapes inside the egg, so simple while at the same time intricate once it is all put together. I like the mix of secular and religious. I plan to make one for myself too.

4  Re: Rise of the Cougars Geezer Swap, Round 7 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by Helena Puck on: March 25, 2017 02:58:02 PM
Just got an amazing package from underthemountain.

She sent me a slouch hat that I had been wanting and included a great matching scarf. I am wearing them because I wanted to make sure everyone could appreciate of the shape. And, also, welcome spring!  Cheesy

And as added bonus, she sent some beautiful jewelry by Onyxnox. I love these. I can see myself wearing these every day, just my style. My husband especially loves the tree, said it matches my eyes.

Everything is absolutely perfect. Thanks again!

Here is the picture of all my goodies from Sylvanna.

She sent me a beautiful orange crocheted infinity scarf, a crochet wrist band, catnip toys for the kittens, a treat for my dog, a Ludo coaster (because I love Labyrinth, Ludo is my favorite character), a white mug that got a little damaged on the way here but I will keep it in my classroom anyway- still functions, 3 handmade beeswax candles with a glass candle holder, a wooden tic-tac-to board, a finger twister type game called finger tangle "fingerkludder" (a perfect cabin fever activity), two cross stitch kits with patterns, two wooden spoon hot chocolate mixes with marshmallows, and tea.

Needless to say, I am totally spoiled.

Here is what I made for my swap partner for the Valentine Swap.

I designed the pattern using a graphic I found on pinterest and the PCStitch Program. The fabric is black 18 count aida and I used DMC thread 666 Christmas red.

9  Ribbon Candy Ornament in Needlework: Completed Projects by Helena Puck on: December 26, 2016 01:12:03 PM

I made this ornament for my partner in the mini 12 Days of Christmas swap. This pattern is called Ribbon Candy Ornament by Calico Crossroads. I customized the colors to make it her favorite colors.

The project is neat, but if you ever get it, I highly recommend reading the stitching instructions. Evidently, there is a special stitching pattern they want you to follow to make the front and back look the same. Unfortunately, since I already knew how to stitch, I just started stitching right away. While the back looks neat, it does not look like the front, so the folds make the back visible.

10  Christmas Ornaments in Needlework: Completed Projects by Helena Puck on: December 26, 2016 01:04:26 PM
I made these two ornaments for my partners for the Mini 12 Days of Christmas swap.

The rabbit came from The World of Cross Stitching magazine. It was from of the free card kit that shipped with the magazine. I love that magazine. I have a new surprise project in the mail every month.

I am not great with mounting and the backing, so I attached the aida to the green felt with scrapbook eyelets.

The other ornament, magnet, or broch is my own design, a zombie gingerbread man. He is stitched on perforated paper. I used PCStitch Pro to create the pattern.
