Ah, thanks so much guys Smiley I definitly lost patience with it a few times and chucked it at the back of the WIP basket - but I'm so glad I did stick with it ultimately; I keep noticing hexies that have happy memories attached and that makes it even better. Current favorite is the patch made from the same fabric used for making elephant-puppet ears when I worked in a production of Elephantom a few years back  Grin

This rug was a labour of love! fortunately, I really enjoyed doing it, I've been working on it on and if for a couple of years now; first making all the hexies, then sorting them into colours and sewing up. And it's finally finished!! I adore it, it makes me happy every time I see it, and as you see even my cat approves  Grin

It's made of 769 1-inch hexies, most of which were from leftover fabrics (or friend's leftovers, since I raided a few scrap boxes too). One if this things I love about EPP is that it lets you make use of what world otherwise be wasted; for example all my templates were made out of old homework sheets!

The back is just plain wool felt, and I sewed (is sewed a word??) a row of hexies all around the edge of the reverse of the top piece to give a nice edge.

Me me me! I was umming, since I have my dissertation I'm supposed to be writing - but this is my favorite swap, and as long as I keep my crafting to something I can do at work, I can easily put the time in. Hurrah! I'm so excited! Now to ponder possible partners Cheesy

I just love your sense of humor, especially the tiny raptors!  Grin

Is it easier or harder on our Headmistresses with project dumps?  I would hope easier with linking!  .... either way *lets homework spill out of my Hermione bag*

TBH, it doesn't really make a difference if people do en mass dumps, or one at a time. Basically we have a giant spreadsheet with all the classes and challenges, and all the students - and we just fill it in!

Things that do make a massive difference (you guys are pretty awesome at this, i'm only posting as it seems a timely reminder given usual end of semester project dumps!)
* include all the information clearly in their post headers (eg, telling me it's a 'detention' prompt is naff all use unless you tell me which month it's for too - usually when we are tallying points we're not reading the details in your project notes, just the headers),
* fill all the requirements  (recipes are commonly forgot, and we won't count a project without one. Also sometimes pictures - occasionally people intend to come back and add pics but forget, or we do an update before they get a chance, so it's best to just wait and make the post when you can add pictures right then, or within a couple of minutes if on a separate computer)
 * if people are doing project dumps (even mini-ones), it's also really helpful if they can order them alphabetically by class or challenge title (eg Alchemy, Detention (march), Divination, Floo (Volcano),  Head's challenge (may), Transfig)  - as that's the order our spreadsheet is in, so alphabetizing minimizes our to-ing and fro-ing across the sheet (it really is giant!)
