I'm finding that Clara is quite social and easily makes friends.  While I met my friend for lunch at a Mexican restaurant she found someone to hang out with, too.

I sew as a fill in at Mother Earth Pillows and took Clara with me yesterday.  Not only did she help choose fabric and sew, but she played with the Cuddle Pals.

Clara is here!  She jumped right in to help; she's currently in the kitchen with DH grating Swiss cheese for the freezer.  No small feat considering the cheese is almost as big as she is!

Aurora is home!  It looks like she had a lot of fun.  Lucky for her she was gone this winter, because she got to see way more snow than she would have at home.  She brought with her a box of salt water taffy (haven't had this in years and am ridiculously excited about it), a key chain, temporary tattoo, big plastic cup, sticker, state map, and a mint from Alexampersandra's anniversary dinner.  It was so good of you to take her along; I hope she wasn't too much of a third wheel on your special day!

This is just my second LV swap, and when I received the first scrapbook I realized I would quickly run out of space before too many more.  Someone from the last swap sent standard 8.5x11 pages, and I loved this idea.  I can make a binder with each travel being a new chapter of the book and don't have to find storage for the larger books.  Lucky for me Alexampersandra obliged, and here the scrapbook is open to my favorite picture of the whole bunch:  Aurora making a snow angel. <3!

Thanks for everything, Alexampersandra!

<waves> Another last minuter here!  I have just sorted the pictures and am on my way to print them out.  Most of the souvenirs are made, so I'm down to the scrapbook and box hunting.

Anana finally got to see downtown St. Louis.  Here he is with the Arch

and inside the main branch of the St. Louis City Library.

Last weekend we had a weekend trip to New Orleans.  I took him to the French Quarter, and here he is with a Bourbon Street marker.

This weekend just past we went to watch a Blues hockey game.  Here is the first goal of the game that we would go on to win 4 - 3.

Ugh I caught the creeping crud and have been down for the last week.  Such grand plans I had for this swap and other stuff that didn't get done because I've been feeling puny.  Even just downloading the Cairo pics seemed like a a huge task. Sad

I sent Anana with my mom and her friend to visit the Pyramids and the Sphinx.

He got a great view of the city at Saladin's Citadel.

Anana got to see King Tut at the Egyptian Museum, but there is no photography allowed in that area.  Here he is mildly amused that there aren't any pineapple-shaped canopic jars.

Of course there was much shopping to be done!  Anana thought he'd like to have a galabaya, but we couldn't find anything in his size.

One supplier enjoyed having him in the shop so much he put him on their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Moustafa-GLASS-1514468848847348/

It was my stepdad's birthday last Thursday, so we went over for dinner and cake.

I was hired to help on a large mosaic project.  It's a giant snail that will be open in the middle so people can go inside.  Here's Anana standing next to the model.

We are in the second day of a three day ice storm, and I'm happy to say that in two weeks we'll be far removed from this business - Anana and I are going to Cairo!

I hope everyone is on the mend!  I'm grateful that so far I've avoided the really nasty stuff it seems like so many here are dealing with.  Unfortunately for Anana just because I've been well doesn't mean he's been hitting the town.  It's been pretty slow around here.  I did take him to my first shivah, and he assured me that the smile was for the treats and not the occasion.

He also got to see the largest Amoco sign.

Even though Anana is a boy he was allowed to come to girls' game night.  He sampled some local brew,

modeled the Speak Out mouthpieces with my friend Lani,

and helped me play Cards Against Humanity.

Hope everyone has an entertaining and safe New Year's Eve!
