I was painting this background and ran out of acrylic paint, but I had the creative bug bad and I was dying to create SOMETHING...so I got out my oil pastels and pencils and made this owl. It actually worked out really well and it was so much fun! Once I was finished, I sealed it with some spray sealer so that it wouldn't smudge.
Recently, I was commissioned by a children's hospital to create 10 paintings of various sizes. The theme was animals playing outside. Two of the canvases were so big (four feet x five feet!) that I had a hard time taking photos of them.
I have been so busy lately, I haven't had a lot of time for painting....but I just HAD to get this one finished! I was inspired by a nature photo I saw where the fox almost seemed like he was smiling. It's done with acrylic paint and acrylic inks on a 11x14 stretched canvas.
I am having so much fun making these, I just had to share! They are multi media sculptures made from paper mache, wood, paint, gesso, glaze and fabric. They aren't quite finished...I think I will add some painted details to the plaques and maybe nameplates at the bottom.
I just added a photo of the rabbit I just completed. I made him some spectacles and a tophat because he is quite the dapper fellow.
Hello all! This is a painting I just recently finished. It's BIG... the canvas is 36 inches x 36 inches. I've always loved Alice in Wonderland so it was a lot of fun to paint the Mad Hatter's tea party in this large scale.
I made this "Adventure Journal" to chronicle all the daily adventures, doodles and musings that may come up. And who better to guard these adventures than an adventurous dragon? I used heavy cardboard for the front and back covers and painted and drew the artwork on heavy paper, cut it out and created a mini collage.
