1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / whimsical bunting necklace! on: June 24, 2011 11:05:45 PM
I've developed a life altering obsession with flag buntings recently. When i found this tutorial:http://mrspriss.com/2010/11/08/diy-anthropologie-inspired-flag-bunting-necklace/ I absolutely HAD to make it.

Mine is much more colorful, but I thought it was more fun that way! This is the first jewelry related thing I've ever made, so I'm pretty pleased with it Smiley

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / 80's mess to pretty dress! on: June 24, 2011 10:52:06 PM
v I suppose dress recons make me crazily excited...

I came across this dress at a thrift store for $6, and I knew it had some serious potential

After taking off the sleeves, doing a bit of tailoring, and adding new buttons and white piping, it was ridiculously cute!

I wore it to a party and got some strange looks, but I suppose that's just because teenagers are so closed minded. But look, it even has a pretty back opening!

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Ruffle Maxi Dress on: June 24, 2011 10:39:31 PM
I made this maxi dress to wear to a friend's sweet 16. I used a tutorial from the blog "Make it and Love It", and it's definitely the simplest and most comfortable dress I've ever made!

Since this particular fabric wasn't available on the ruffle fabric website, I actually took a bus into the city just to go to the garment district, find it and come home Tongue (there's surprising benefits to living in NJ!)
