1  figure drawing (warning:WICKED nudity ahead) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Aly_421 on: April 23, 2008 08:00:14 AM
so, last night in drawing 1 we had to draw the figure. it was very awkward at first, but after a while you get used to it.......
until your professor puts you dead on with her genitals because 'you can do foreshortening' this may be true, but that awkward feeling came back with a million times worse!

anyways, i got over it and our model, wendy, really liked my drawing so..life goes on :]

safe thumbnail! ((sorry about that i didn't even think of it because i've been on craftster so long without the thumbnails!))

((Rest in peace pretty kitty <333))

although now that i look at it again, her left arm (on the right side of the picture) looks a little funny. but i avoided that part until we had 1 minute left because unclenched hands intimidate me

also, it's probably good to know that our professor didn't tell us to use pencil. all but me used vine charcoal. however, i like to challenge my professor. last half of the semester, we had to draw a drapery piece for our midterm drawing...i did it, not only in pencil, but in squiggles. i'll post it later..
the whole time she was like "hmm, you may just prove me wrong. drapery CAN be done in pencil by a drawing 1 student..in squiggles no less!" :p

2  the study of a nose in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Aly_421 on: April 23, 2008 07:46:34 AM

photo comp.
this was ORIGINALLY one of my options for the macro challenge, but you can only have oneeeeee photo, no collages (boo. but fair) so, here it is, my big fricking nose.

for bigger viewing.

as with my macro entry here:
(shameless plug)
the intention of my mini-macro-photoshoot was to make me think i'm pretty. because more often than not, i feel like i'm not pretty. that's no way to live.
so, ta-da! my nose.

p.s. only photoshopping was to piece the two photos together.

3  out with the mini me's in with the MACRO ME's ver.666 in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Aly_421 on: April 22, 2008 08:54:28 PM
so, ironically this is photo "Picture 666.jpg" on my computer. which i find quite amusing. have no fear, fellow craftsters, i am not the spawn of satan, however 6 is my favourite number.

macro me.
it will become a new craze, out with the mini me's, in with the macro me's!

to see it even MORE macro:
(see? picture666.jpg!)

anyways, the focus is my big honkin' nose that everyone always tells me they love. but i dislike it more often than not, so my attempt at my mini-macro-photoshoot was to make myself more appealing to myself. and in this photo, i do quite like the way i look even with my huge (is it crooked too?! dang) nose. i also really like (wow, i'm complimenting myself...unusual and quite silly too) how the lighting makes a circle on my nose. :] its endearing. as are the big bags under my eyes (so says the boy.) from my 14 hour school day.  Lips sealed

anyways, enjoy. and good luck to all your macro-ness as well.

HOLY MOLY. I CANNOT STOP MODIFYING THIS POST. anyways, no photoshop here.

4  study of a compuslive skin picker ((NOT A macro entry, just a macro collage.)) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Aly_421 on: April 22, 2008 08:05:06 PM

edit: so i tried to pull this off as a challenge entry, but only one photo per entry, no collages. so i shall return with just ONE (SO hard to choose. but i must :])
thanks batgirl for letting me know!

okay, rambling, then pictures (an interesting one for the thumbnail then the 'official entry')
i know that a lot of people have this problem: dermatillomania. also known as compulsive skin picking. but not a lot of us know that it is an actual "disease". For me, i pick my fingers (mostly my thumbs which is the focus of my photos..actually at the beginning of the semester i picked a chunk right out of my thumb!) as a soothing anxiety thing but other do it when they're bored or trying to smooth out rough spots. I don't even realize when i do it (although i have been working on being more aware of it) so it tends to get pretty far before i notice/stop. usually until i bleed, sometimes much longer after that. it's a big problem. i have my hands in my pockets 85% of the time (the rest is writing or picking) and i tend to avoid shaking hands or even holding hands with the boy i love because i'm afraid that the roughness of where i've picked will freak people out. hands are supposed to be smooth and soft, not ugly and rough. but, i decided to enter this challenge to help spread the word (i bet some of you craftsters do it too!) and to let people know it really is a problem i cannot stop.
oh, and the only photoshopping i did was putting all my pictures on one big background. it's a macromposition. :] i couldn't choose one and i think this conveys my emotion better, hope thats okay!

*phew* now that you've had your reading of the day...
(p.s. one of these days i will switch to the craftster photo hosting, but it is far too late for me to attempt tonight)

((http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y266/AlyCat8701/studyofcompulsiveskinpicking.jpg for bigger viewing...?))

thank youuuu!  Kiss

5  patchwork flower art in Quilting: Completed Projects by Aly_421 on: February 25, 2008 07:09:23 AM

okay, let me start off with i have NO idea where to post this topic (interior decorating, more art? just misc?), so if it needs to be moved i'm all for it.

second of all, i rarely post my own projects on craftster..i'm bashful :}

thirdly, it's not really quilting or patchwork (but it looks like both to me). i just sewed and sewed and sewed fabric on top to make pretty flowers.

the darker one is for my mom's birthday, i'm still trying to find a frame. it's about 8x10"

:p i edited it so the picture in the new topics thumbnails would be more intriguing. haha

next to my itty bitty hand for reference

more detail (i love it when my camera cooperates)

with tha button

and the second button swirls off one petal

with the button, so cute. i sewed it on with blue thread so it really stands out.

okay, a question for you all...would you buy these? i would frame them of course but i searched etsy and couldn't find anything like them. how much could they sell for? poor college girl needs laundry monies haha.

7  Re: Show off your hair! And questions about hair styles! in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by Aly_421 on: April 26, 2006 07:54:14 PM

okay well first, my hair beforeeeeeee:

and now the highlighting results:

((myspace face))

((angsty teen pose))

i think it's a little too blonde for me. i really wanted natural-looking red highlights but i guess those are hard to come by.
well, what do you all think?

((p.s. my hair isn't usually this nasty looking. it isn't dry so it isn't straight yet.once it's dry, it's stick straight and a pain in my bum))

do you ever press the backspace on accident and it does the page back and you delete the entire entry? yeah i just did. annoyance.

about my 'immaturity'. some of the cutouts say "you are immature", "i enjoy who i am", and "i think i'll move to australia" (from alexander and the terrible horrible no good very bad day)

"we weren't always oceans apart"

lips. kiss. kiss. kiss. kiss. kiss.

that day, i danced in the rain.

about a boy.

about two boys. gay together. being harassed. me being super pissed because i love them both to pieces.

thoughts of an insomniac

movie audition. my monologue on left [i memorized the entire thing! and still didn't make it in...well, that's a lie i'm an extra] and my thoughts before and after auditioning.

lonely. lonely. lonely. lonely.

day before my sweet sixteen.

birthday [left: "can you say hot?" and the cooky guy has a tiny speech bubble saying "hot."]
[right: the aftermath of my party. and a sexayyyy man]

asian accent: i say what the f*ck b*tch.
[right: sh*tty day, hence the garbage crap]

confused. [also ironic. the actual entry is extremely neat and organized with bullets... Roll Eyes ]

i totally just shared my life. lol.
comments maybe? please?
