11  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Socks - toe up worsted weight with Cascade 220 on: January 23, 2006 01:27:49 PM
This was a stash buster project. Plus a great way to warm up my feet for these cold months.

Here are two sock patterns I've created. A lace sock takes 4-5 hours and a cable sock is about 3-4 hours. Enjoy! Just remember not to put these socks in the washing machine.

12  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Steam scarf + pattern on: December 12, 2005 04:40:41 PM
I finished this in Australia on vacation last month and have a grey one half way done that I am going to get back to work on. This is a simple but not mind-numbing pattern that's great for knitting in public.

13  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Pointy Cabled Hat from Cascade Pastazza on: October 21, 2005 03:05:32 PM
I just finished this pattern and hat last night.

Here is the pattern - I created it from my Winter Femme design. The hat you see is on pages 3 & 4.

14  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Zucchini Bread - to die for... on: October 21, 2005 02:54:27 PM
I recently made this and it was promptly bumbed to my top 5 favorite foods. The best part is that I used Splenda for baking so there is so much less guilt. I am going to bake this in little loaf tins and gift them to co-workers at Christmas this year. I got the zucchini at Trader Joe's.

16  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Quickie Baby Sweater on: August 03, 2005 04:05:43 PM
I made this baby sweater in about 4-5 hours. When I gave it away at the baby shower everyone frieked out - I was surprised, since it was so quick to knit - but people really appreciated a hand knit gift.

This is a good project for beginners to learn some new stitches and experience knitting a sweater "top down".

Here is the pattern: http://d-made.com/knitting/patterns/Quickie_Baby_Sweater.pdf

There are also matching booties and a bonnet - but I thought that would be a little overboard for doing this the night before.

Here is an alternate pattern link: http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/kp3.html

This pattern is an old classic - I don't know it's origin...

18  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / A Swell Yarn Shop on: June 21, 2005 11:17:56 AM
A Swell Yarn Shop is open!

The cool thing about this online yarn store is it's aimed at offering lower priced yarns for us who already have too much in our stash to afford a $150 sweater.

She is offering 15% now through July 4th to kick things off simply enter coupon code GD70505 at the bottom of your shopping page and you will get 15% off your entire purchase.
Shipping is free on any purchase over $30.00

The other cool thing is... when Angela (http://agirlsgottaknit.blogspot.com) saves enough from her profits, she'll open up a "brick & mortar" store in Redmond where we can all hang out and knit! There isn't a yarn store in Redmond, WA yet, so help her be the first.
19  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Stitchalongs / Marquior Story Along on: May 23, 2005 03:36:41 PM
I think this has been made by a lot of people in France, but not here on Craftster.

I have started in the middle and am loving this project. Anyone care to join?

Here is what I have done so far

20  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / AUSTRALIA / Yarn in Sydney? on: May 18, 2005 05:04:22 PM
I am traveling to Syndey in November 2005. I am wondering where to go for the best yarn shops in town, I might not have a car, but am hoping to bring home a souvineer yarn purchase.

I also would love to find an active Stitch N Bitch group to knit with for an evening.

Any recommendations?
