1  Re: How's Your etsy Shop Doing? in Selling Crafts on Etsy.com by NellyPie on: May 17, 2006 01:43:12 PM
I think they're very cute tomatedepingles!

I just finished a HUGE batch of new polymer clay beads and I was hoping to sell them as earrings, my problem is how to picture them. I'd like to just make one listing with a main picture and then several more pictures of the various other colors. AND give the option of with or without the silver leaves. Is that too many options?

I was also planning to charge $10 for a pair...is that too much, too little?
OH and I need a good title for them, I'm so bad with titles!

what do you think?

2  Glass ornament wreath (complete w/ photos) in Winter Holidays by NellyPie on: December 20, 2005 02:54:52 PM
Nothing really creative, but it was a tricky project and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!

3  $5 Handmade ornaments in Winter Holidays by NellyPie on: December 17, 2005 06:31:31 PM
I made this set for a friend. They're just styrofoam balls covered in fabric and ribbon. Cost a little under $5 and were quick to make. I think it's a pretty sweet gift...

7  Round Straw Placemat Purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by NellyPie on: April 09, 2005 09:16:16 AM
I loved the idea bagheraa had for a purse made out of a round placemat, so here's my version!

I bought the plack handles from Wal-mart. I used a big button to make a closure. The lining is a cute little western hankie pattern with paisley and hearts. I covered shoes to match!

8  Red and White dottie shoes: painted canvas slip-ons in Shoes: Completed Projects by NellyPie on: April 09, 2005 09:09:44 AM
Hey here are my new favorite summer shoes! I saw this idea on another thread and had to try it out. I bought a cheap pair of white mens boat shoes from K-mart. Then I just painted them red with white polka dots using regular old acrylic craft paint. No sealer! No textile medium! I wore them in the rain yesterday and they still look as good as new.

They're not done yet though! I'm gonna paint a little swallow on the top of the right one (the one that's only a little dotted)

9  Re: Ideas for Decorating Vintage 1940s Hats? (with picture) in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by NellyPie on: April 08, 2005 04:17:38 PM
Oh crap. My hats are at my parents house (I'm a college student). I'm not going to be at home until the first or second week in May! No pictures until then either! I'm so sorry! I forgot, I hate that crap. BUT I definitely WILL get back with you then if you're still interested.

I can describe them and I searched forever on the internet to find pics of similar shapes.

The straw one is so freakin pimp! I really wish I could wear it. I can get a measurement once I get home! There's a label, but I forgot the designer name. I looked it up once and the designer is a derby hatmaker from way back. It's work a good bit to me 'cause I like it so much and because of the condition and tag. It's shaped pretty much like this one:

but like this crossed with a fedora. The top straw is navy, this bottom/brim straw is white. and the brim turns up on the sides to show off the white. Theres a stiff skinny navy feather attached to one side and the top is caved in a bit in the classic fedora way, but it still fit really close to your head.

The other one is really nice, brownish red fur (I don't know what kind, but it's so soft!) in really good condition. It looks like a classier, softer, less extreme version of this:

The front fur part is not nearly as tall though. (And the fur is much darker and not bushy) BUT the little bit of boneing that holds it up is broken in one place, so it comes to a point at the top instead of being rounded. Easily fixable with a wire though.

Anyway. I'm so sorry I forgot! I really would like to work something out.

10  Patriotic Computer Case Mod in Completed Projects by NellyPie on: April 01, 2005 09:39:58 PM
I've never seen a case mod on craftster so here ya go! My boyfriend and I (I did most of the painting) modded up his computer for a MaximumPC (magazine) patriotic themed case modding contest.

We picked a "Rosie the Riveter" theme and turned the case into a big metal toolbox by painting it with blue automotive spray paint (took forever! I tried to do a professional job). Them we added real hinges, a handle and other hardware to fake a took box look. I then added a bunch of war "stickers" to one side and painted a version of the Rosie poster on other (me as Rosie, my boyfriend's idea).

We got an honorable mention, got a picture and mention in MaximumPC and a $200 video card that my BF got to pick out. Pretty neat.

Sorry about the tiny pics, I can scrounge around for some bigger ones if anyone's really interested.
