4  Re: Delicious little hotdog...cat? in Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects by gingery on: September 27, 2005 10:01:15 PM
This is my boyfriend's kitten, Delicious (that was the only alternative to the first name he picked out, "Ugly").  He's an art student, and for a project, he wanted to put her in a food costume, at which point we both thought of a hotdog, and I remembered seeing this thread awhile ago:

So with a few modifications, we made her costume.

what...the...crap... haha, this is so funny

I added batting to the inside of the pieces to make them puffy, but this decreased the costume's coverage, so if I were doing it again I'd make the individual pieces larger.  And of course, we topped it off with the pickle hat.

She looks more hot-doggerly when she's walking around and not squishing the costume, but she looked so sad that I didn't want to further break her spirit by making her get up.  Actually, I don't think she minded that much; she's a very permissive cat.  She hasn't tried to take her revenge...yet.

7  Re: Instant Swap 4 SIGNUP: Closed, MAILOUT: 9/20/05 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by gingery on: September 20, 2005 06:23:54 PM
Since I could get delivery confirmation, here's my proof that I shipped it Tongue

Fortunately, what I made was very light in weight and could be mail in a small bubble envelope. Smiley

8  Re: What makes a bedroom look "romantic" in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by gingery on: July 08, 2005 08:25:35 AM
I've been contemplating getting a headboard/footboard from ikea.  This is what it looks like:

I would also like to get a canopy of sorts...the kind that you hang from the ceiling.  I've seen them before, I just need to go find one.

As for the side table, it's a little too short so I think I'm going to either toss it or put it in another room.  I hate having to reach down to turn off my alarm clock and almost fall out of bed Wink

I've thought about adding a small recliner or similiar chair in like the corner or something.  I'm definitely going to invest in a lamp with a frosted shade and a pink lightblub.  Smiley  I need to find patterns to make pillows, and buy fabric for curtains (after I buy the sewing maching of course) I'm also going to splurge on fancy sheets, but I don't know anything about thread counts, etc.

Thanks so much for your suggestions!!
