21  Re: Pocket Letters Round 4 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by mandykaye on: February 09, 2017 07:27:36 PM
I received my PL from fluffypants today!!!! Its an homage to her city Thunder Bay and its so amazingly well done!!!

It features different landmarks and attractions, plus a self portrait eating a local fave (persian). Its got a lot of layers that may not come through in the photos! (I love the sequiny paper used for Lake Superior!) So much great art work here! I mean, look at the statue and the building!!!

And the backside with the extras!

And all out to see better! Its all so cheery which is awesome cuz the sun peaked through today while I opened the package! Its been extremely gloomy in Michigan this winter and this really made me smile!

Thanks so much fluffypants for the awesome PL!!! And thanks geekgirl1000100 for the great swap!

23  Re: Junk Journal-along 2017 - Let's keep on making books! in Craftalongs by mandykaye on: February 08, 2017 02:57:21 PM
OK, so I finally took some photos of some little journals I made up.

The first collage is of more of my cook book art journal.

This next one is just a little 3"x5" journal made from a piece of cardboard covered in ink stained paper towel. I just used small pieces of scrap paper and made two signatures. I covered the stitches on the binding with colored duct tape.

This next collage is two different junk journals. The top six photos are of a journal I made for myself to keep track of crafster swap info. Its made up from some pages I received from swaps and notes and envelopes from swaps as well. Plus some other plain paper to fill in. I can;t show a lot of it as it has addresses and real names, but I really like how it came out!

The bottom three are another journal made the same way, only with plain (unwritten) papers and envelopes. I am going to give this to a friend.

Some of you may recognize some papers and stuff you may have sent over the years lol. The oldest thing in the craftster journal (that I know of) is a decorated envelope from 2010.

I made the covers from Stove Top Stuffing boxes lol. I covered with wallpaper and other pretty papers I received from swaps. I finished off with patterned duct tape.

I have a few other journals in the works. One is a junk mail junk journal. Not sure how "junky" I'll keep it. I'm sure I'll paint over a lot of it though...

I received an ATC from bunny1kenobi today for favorite quote or lyric theme. She chose lines from "Better Dig Two" by The Band Perry. This is titled "Graveyard Lament"

I've never heard the song, but I like these lyrics! Thanks so much bunny1kenobi! Another great addition to my collection!

Great stuff! (I know what you mean about Negan curiousfae Wink )

I received this beautiful Tree of Life from geekgirl1000100 today! The background is made with gelatos and the tree is done with distressed inks! I love the swirls!

I wasn't sure which side was up or down since they both seem to work really well either way lol! After I uploaded the photo, it now looks like it may be upside down? That means it was a really well designed tree of life!!!

She also sent me some washi tape samples!!! Thank you so much geekgirl1000100!!! LOVE it!!!

26  Altered BINGO card: Friday the 13th! in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by mandykaye on: January 27, 2017 11:56:05 PM
I am following the Paper and Mixed Media Craft-Along and the January theme was Friday the 13th. I had gotten some BINGO cards from audio in the paper goodies de-stash swap recently and had an idea to use one for the theme.

For the base, I layered on some spray inks and a bit of tissue paper in the corners for a little texture. I had masked the numbers 13 and 66. I then stamped some circles with found objects in white paint. I used various stickers and papers that I felt went with the theme. The "13 skull" was made out of poly clay using a mold from a charm I had. I then brushed a bit of paint to give it a copper patina. I used some craft feathers and a bit of yarn and straw and that's about it!

I was meaning to go darker and more ominous, but I like the more colorful vibe it turned out with!

Cute recipe book! I love the paw balm too!

Here is my submission for the January challenge! I altered a BINGO card. I was originally going for something darker, but I am not unhappy with the colors!  Cheesy

Its mostly papers and stickers except for a couple feathers and a poly skull I made and painted.
