1  Playing Card Clutch... Help! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions by estelle on: March 16, 2010 10:29:10 AM
Hey everyone! So last night, I got bit by the crafting bug, and I began working on a playing card clutch inspired by sweet fancy moses post: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=153179.0. She included a little tutorial, but I ran into issues, and she's inactive, so I was hoping you all could help me.

This is what I have:

The pieces I started out with:

Giant piece:

And the problem:

I have no idea how to fashion the side paneling out of cards, and I really struggled with it. Any tips/suggestions? Thanks!

3  my first scarf--- and its fuzzy!!! in Knitting: Completed Projects by estelle on: July 29, 2006 07:05:56 PM
I've been working on this scarf since April. The yarn is really soft and pretty but it was difficult to work with, so I had to start over twice in mid scarf (it's not like I'm that slow of a knitter) Anyways, it's finally ready in time for the chilly August days in South Florida! Actually, my school is freezing so I might wear it during class.

Hello all my fellow craftsters! Me and my best friend/fellow craftster LuNaGirl painted these black tee's in a Twentieth Century Fox theme. For those who don't know, it's an awesome song by the Doors, check it out!

Here are the pictures of mine:

5  my first knitted bag!!! in Knitting: Completed Projects by estelle on: June 23, 2006 03:37:07 PM
Okay, I finished this bag way back in December but it came out slightly deformed. See, being a teenager, I didn't listen to my mom when she told me to stop knitting and it was perfect size. So at the end of my project I ended up with a bag that became all weighed down when there was stuff in it and the strap was too long and yeah. So it was shoved in my closet... until now. I found a great flower pin and I decided to use it. I simply used to pin some of the strap inside the bag. Plus it looks great... as in a bit better!

So those are my small, artsy pics. The bag is good for holding a few folders, my phone, etc. but not really any heavy duty stuff. I'm gonna use it for semester exams, when we're only allowed to carry a few things.

Comments/suggestions are lovely and welcome.  Wink

6  Ready for some football??? Jersey --> Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by estelle on: June 19, 2006 06:04:09 PM
I'm a sucker for Miami Hurricane football. And I know August is a couple months away, but I just got inspired. I had this swell jersey that didn't fit me anymore. But no crying over spilt milk... I made it into a simple bag. UF and FSU fans might be jealous next season, but its for a worthy cause (UM football, of course)...

^ best pic I could take of the whole bag....

^ close-up of the, um, pouch part that was the front of the shirt. I know I sorta cut Miami off, but I couldn't really fix it or hem it.

^ close-up of strap. I thought there wasn't enough orange, until the fabric paint appeared

I wear it over the shoulder and there is enough room for water, the cellphone, lip gloss, etc. Don't forget, comments/suggestions are welcomed.

8  I NEED AN AGENT... FAST!!! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by estelle on: April 29, 2006 07:21:19 PM
Last weekend, my friend had this very cool D.I.Y./movie marathon party.  She even gave us plain white tees to customize. I lacked imagination until, I thought about this ugly shirt I saw in on-line ad. It said "I need an agent". As in talent agent. Like the ones you need to become a film actress. Yeah, that's my dream. Anyways, this is what I came up with...

^ me wearing it.

^ a close-up of the front text

^ a close-up of the back detaling (a bit fuzzy, sorry)

The tee was huge on, so I re-sized it according to directions I found here on craftster. Then I used fabric paint and markers to decorate the front. I cut out the neckline to make it like a scooped neckline and when I did I cut a hole in the back. So then I stiched up the hole and painted the red star to disguse it. So, do you think my parents will get the message?

9  Not Too Special, But I Made It Myself... in Knitting: Completed Projects by estelle on: April 18, 2006 03:34:32 PM
So I know we've seen a gazillion million iPod cozies by now. And although it's a Nano (his name is Murphy. Random, I know), it's not really unique. But that doesn't keep me from loving it!

Sorry if the pictures are a bit fuzzy...

10  Re: creative halloween costumes in Halloween Costumes by estelle on: October 24, 2005 01:19:12 PM
Last year I was a gypsy.

I dyed my mom's blouse purple, and I borrowed a flowery skirt of hers that isnt pictured. I also tied a green shawl around my waist and I had tons of bangles and a HUGE "ruby" ring. I curled my hair and my mom drew me a mole. And the layered necklaces were actually garland that we tied. It was the fun-est costume ever!!!
