This is so, so, so lovely. Well done - it looks fabulous on you. Screw schoolwork, I'm going wool shopping tomorrow. This sweater is minnneeee.  Grin

3  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: "Sweater of Many Buttons" Knitalong! on: March 11, 2007 02:30:38 PM
Thanks everyone!

okia419 - I guess you could say my indecisiveness (my reluctance to commit to one set of buttons over another) led to an artistic move (random buttons from a grab bag)!  Smiley

I'm excited to see everyone's results!

Thanks! And thanks to everyone who answered my barrage of mid-knit questions!

Hey, no shame!!  Smiley this is my Saturday too: knitting, surfing the awesomeness that is Craftster, and not writing the papers I'm supposed to be working on. In fact, I am wearing pyjamas with rainbows on them. On Saturday night. You can kind of see them in the photo above Cool

FINALLY! It only took me, um, 5 months  Embarrassed

It's actually been languishing in my closet since January, fully knit and awaiting the perfect set of buttons, which I found (and they're not a set at all!):

I'm hopelessly indecisive, so I just used one or two each of a whole bunch of random buttons that I bought in a grab bag at Michael's. It's a bit loose in the chest where I did the shaping (which is weird, cause I measured throughout ... it's like it has a mind of its own), but I've solved that problem before by soaking the problem area and blasting it with a hairdryer.

the noodle princess - great minds think alike! I used 4 and a bit balls of Paton's Shetland Chunky. I lost the label but I think it's called "Rich Burgundy." It's so soft and cosy. I love it. And we're just starting to see hints of spring where I live, so I might actually be able to show it off without a jacket overtop soon  Smiley

That's beautiful!! I've always wanted to see what that yarn looks like knit up - I always admire it when I go into the wool shop but I've never really had something specific in mind to use it for, and now I do  Grin

Is the pattern on Lion Brand's site?

Sigur Ros is love. I hate that my city is in the middle of a country (Canada) that's logistically difficult to account for on a tour. This means that almost none of my favourite non-Canadian artists make it up here ... so there you go. I am jealous of your handpainting ability AND your Sigur Ros experience!! The shirt looks wonderful!

That's beautiful! It looks so cozy and warm, and I love the colour you chose.
