Great fabric indeed and the bag is awesome.

Great bags there. I really like the one second from bottom, fabric wise. And I really like the dog. She looks like she's a very sweet dog  Smiley

I really like these bags! It got me thinking. I knot a bit, and I am thinking of using my own knotting work on a bag. What I can't figure out though: how do you fasten things like these (knotted stuff, lace, the spider webs) to the bag so it doesn't come loose?

I love it! Now I am wondering how you did it

Thanks!  I actually didn't know about craftster.org back when I was looking for a tutorial, so I found it on youtube - it's here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIz-whiBMww  The tutorial talks about cutting the fabric with a die cutting tool, but you can just use 5" squares instead (the die adds scalloped edges - so you could use a pinking blade for the same effect).

Anyway, the tutorial also shows how I made the handles and the closure.  Everything I did is from this tute.  However, I did stumble upon a similar tute here on crafster - it's here:  https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=198049.0, but it doesn't have the same closure.

Thanks so much for the links. It landed on my sewing list for the upcoming winter season Smiley

Wow, that's some output for one day. Very nice bags.
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Ribbon slouch bag on: August 22, 2010 10:26:04 AM

I have finally finished this bag, after weeks and weeks of blood, sweat and tears. It's a pattern from a Dutch pattern magazine called 'Knip' (september issue). It's a slouchy bag, with a large ribbon on one side and I have made an inner pouch in the lining.

However, I just couldn't figure out how to do the top/handles. In the end, I just did 'something' just to finish the darn thing. And even fotographing it wasn't easy. The outer fabric is a faux suede and the colors in the first picture reflect the actual colours best (very dark blue). The inner fabric is cotton. I really like the bag itself, but I don't like the fact that it isn't perfect, technically. I'm definitely NOT going to attempt this pattern again any time soon  Wink

I really like it. I had been looking at tapestry fabric for bags, but I wasn't sure. Now I am. It works really well!

I really love what you have done with the fabric. The colours are simply great!

i think the worst part is turning the handles inside out  Undecided

LOL I can only second that. And my boyfriend is laughing here too. He had to help. He held the handles on one side and I turned them with a turner which I especially bought because of this bag  Cheesy
