1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Does a resource like this exist? on: December 09, 2004 01:36:34 PM
Is there any kind of a cheat sheet that lists all the different aspects of a sweater?  Like a listing of all the different kinds of neck lines (turtleneck, crew, v-neck, cowl, etc) or different sleeves (raglan vs. whatever)?  I'm wanting to knit a sweater for my husband and I'd like to be able to explain the different options to him so we can decide on something he'll actually wear.
2  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / A quick question about the wrist bands on: November 27, 2004 12:18:45 AM
I'm getting my little sister the SnB book for Christmas because I think it is the best knitting resource I've ever encountered.  She has expressed interest in the wrist bands so I'm going to get her the right kind of yarn and needles to do at least that project.  The problem is that I loaned my book out to a friend ages ago so I don't have access to that information at the moment.  Normally not a problem, but tomorrow Michael's is having a big sale so this would be the best time to get what I want.

I'm worried that no one will read this between now (3am) and tomorrow when I go shopping (8am).  But if someone does happen to stumble onto this thread in time, I need to know what needles the pattern calls for and the yarn.  If it's something obscure, I'd gladly take recommendations for a substitute.  I love my sister, but she's only 13 and I don't even buy myself the ultra rare llama wool shorn in the light of the full moon in Brazil.  You know?   Wink
