Look at this gorgeous sphynx kitty I received from curiousfae!  So beautifully colored. It looks so much like our cat Bindi. I love it, thank you so much!

Nicely done, mandykaye!  Pioneer9 claimed me for a zombie sheep and it's pretty awesome...  I love the bloodshot eyes.  Thanks so much!

3  A Big Improvement in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by MissingWillow on: June 14, 2017 07:21:48 AM
We've been on a spring cleaning binge for the past week or two and came across this print in our attic.  It was something our family inherited but isn't really our style.  I did a little research on it to determine if it has any value and came up empty.  We didn't want to get rid of it and didn't want it hanging in our living room.  I decided to figure out a way to improve it without damaging it just in case it is valuable.

Here's what I came up with.  Grin  The dragon is an image cut from paper and is just laid on top of the print, not glued.  The frame holds it in place.  Now it's truly something we're happy to display.

Emilywilde sent me the cutest card... a sheep being abducted by a UFO in the style of Edward Gorey.  There's also a bat in the background.  She is the master of combining styles!  I love it to pieces, thank you so much, Emily!

5  Homemade Egg Rolls in Recipes and Cooking Tips by MissingWillow on: June 11, 2017 08:30:59 AM
Because of living so remotely, if we want something special for dinner I have to make it.  We felt like having egg rolls last night.  Luckily I found egg roll wrappers at WalMart so decided to give it a try.  It ended up being easier than I imagined.

I started by sauteing shredded cabbage, carrots, minced garlic and sliced snow peas in a little olive oil until the vegetables were softened.  I would have included bean sprouts if I could find any around here.

I added a splash of white wine, 2 T. oyster sauce and 2 T. soy sauce to the softened vegetables.  I was going to make veggie egg rolls but remembered I had a dozen shrimp available so I sauteed those separately then chopped them up.

I mixed a T. of cornstarch with a T. of water then added it to the vegetables and cooked that for about a minute until it thickened.

I added the chopped shrimp to the vegetable mixture and placed a few spoonfuls on a wrapper.

It gets folded up like an envelope then rolled upwards.  A bit of water at the top of the wrapper makes it stick to itself.  These were fried for a few minutes on each side in 1/2 inch of oil set on medium high.

My favorite dipping sauce is a T. of soy sauce, a T. of rice wine vinegar, a splash of sesame oil and a clove of minced garlic.

Bunnyy1kenobi claimed me for two cards and sent me three.  How fantastic is she?!  She claimed me for aliens abducting farm animals and used a zombie sheep in the card which is titled: Uploading the Virus.  LOL!  She claimed me for HP alphabet and I got a D is for Dementor card to start my collection.  AND... she sent me a SPEW card that she made a while back and thought it might have a good home with me.  She is correct.  Thank you so much for these gems!

Artmomto5 chose my blue ribbon county fair canned goods theme and sent me the BEST card.  Here it is staged against our most recent winning jar of sourwood honey.   Smiley  She included a lot of fun stickers and extra bits to play with.

Here's a close-up.

I love it, thank you!

8  Small Dishes in Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects by MissingWillow on: May 28, 2017 05:14:09 PM
I adore kiln opening day!  I've been experimenting with a new glaze and made a few small dishes to show it off.  The round one is about 2 inches across.

My turn to share!  Bunny1kenobi claimed me twice.  Once for my gypsy wagon theme and once for my strange collection of zombie sheep.  I always appreciate it when a Craftster takes that one.  It's not like you can buy zombie sheep related things anywhere.   Cheesy. The wagon is in such a serene setting and the sheep cracks me up.  Love them both, thank you!

Gozer completely and fully spoiled me!!!.   Smiley  She used her amazing artistic talent to draw original zombie sheep to add to my weird collection.  They are colored with copic markers and framed so nicely.

AND... she made copies of those images and sent me a set of notecards.  I may have to come up with some sort of zombie sheep greeting for the inside and send some of these out as holiday cards for a few special folks who know me so well....   Cheesy

We share a love of purses and she's the MOST amazing seamstress.  She made me this incredibly gorgeous handbag.  What's amazing is we both have this exact same Alexander Henry fabric in our stashes!  Just look at the straps.  I own a lot of purses, this is now my favorite!

The inside is a gorgeous soft pink that coordinates with the moths in the print.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, gozer.  You are amazing and I'm so proud to own these creations of yours.   Kiss
