1  Re: Ongoing Wish Swap Gallery and Discussion Round 134 (February 2017) in The Swap Gallery by JS on: April 15, 2017 06:25:25 PM

The mail carrier brought a box of goodies from our darling rscowtown!  And oh mylanta did she ever spoil me!  Check out these goodies - a huge bolt of Insul-Brite to make potholders, etc; beautiful knit items; and an adorable book of felt monsterlings to make!

She knit these using a variegated yarn with different purple hues.  The photos do not do them justice.  Beautiful and so soft.  *purrr*

Look at these gorgeous fingerless gloves!  Go ahead, be jealous, it's okay.

Oops, the book is backwards lol.  There are lots of ideas in its covers.

I love the versatility of the tube.  *Pose*  It can be a hat, a neck warmer/cowl, or a rolled up ear warmer.  With all the different colors, I can have multiple looks to match a bunch of outfits.

Kidlet helped tie the scarf into a fashionable mode.  *Strikes another pose*

I am beyond thrilled with these goodies!  Laurel, it means so much to have something made by your own hands, and I really appreciate the Insul-brite and cute felt monster book.  They will keep me busy with many projects.  Thank you very much!!!

2  Re: Science project materials? in Discussion and Questions by JS on: March 09, 2017 09:23:48 AM
Kidlet has turned in his report outline and is working on the mobile.  He has holes drilled into rods.  He asked the teacher about adding some calcium products, such as a calcium supplement and powdered milk, to his project.  The teacher flatlined ("You want to bring white powder, not in its original labeled container, to school?").

On a positive note, the shirt that he wants to wear for his presentation on Monday is ready:

Thanks again for the help and encouragement! Smiley

Check out the fabulous box that audio sent me!  She painted it in lovely shades and added a pearlized puffy dragonfly to the top.  It matches the room perfectly.

Thank you, audio!  I love it and will get much use out of it Smiley

Today the mail carrier delivered the remaining part of rscowtown's claim to me!  There is a total of five books, each with awesome ideas and creative stuff.

Sewing Bits & Pieces and 50 Scrap Happy Fabric Treasures each has a variety of projects to help deplete my stash.  Bobby Dazzler's Make Your Own Misfits and Sew Me, Love Me have assorted creatures and critters to make.  Kidlet hijacked the Sneakiest Uses for Everyday Things book and is scouring the house for ketchup packets, a vacuum cleaner hose, and velcro ... (should I be afraid?? lol)

Some of the inside pages and crafts:

There are loads of ideas and techniques.  I cannot wait to delve into the patterns!  rscowtown, These books will definitely keep me busy as well as bust my stash.   Thank you very much for this awesome claim package!  Smiley

So I was tidying my craft room (or so I tell myself) and happened upon one lonely eyeball plug and some small balls of leftover yarn about the size of a golf ball.  Kidlet took some, disappeared for a while, then came back with his crocheted creation:

... and I thought, aw a cute big nosed puppy!
to which he replied, "No Mom, this is Dustin the Mutant Dust Bunny!"

He then instructed me to share his cretin creation with all of you.

Cutest dust bunny I've ever seen lol

Such great projects that everyone is doing!

Here is something I tinkered with, using papers, yarn scraps, dryer sheet, coffee filter, coffee and tea grounds.  Practicing is fun.

Thank you, Anne Smiley

Look at the wonderful table runner that Averia made for me!  My camera doesn't do it justice.  It has shades of blues and greens in lovely batik fabric, and she added dragonflies (my fav bug).  It reverses to the green batik for a different look.  My table has never looked so good.  Ave, thank you so much!

It's great to see everyone's projects.  I made some baby burpies and taglets.

Usually I don't associate skulls with babies, but a friend requested the sugar skull fabric (which was in my stash) for her baby's shower items.  It is soft fleece with pretty colors.  I used it again for the above taglet.

I made my gelli plate.  *checks that off the list*  Now to make some artsy papers and cards, as soon as I get a block of time to play.
