11  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: Marbled Paper (Lots of pictures!) on: July 17, 2010 03:01:22 PM
Oh my holy everloving gods.  That's BEAUTIFUL.  Even the ones that didn't come out right for some reason or another.  I've always wanted to try my hand at marbling paper, but I've always been too afraid.  Do you have tips or anything?

Nice job.  My favorite part is the way the stripes of the fabric look with the pleats.  That, or maybe the little collar.  I can't decide.  =)

You're awesome, your boyfriend's awesome, and (this is a bit of a leap from the handful of surcoat pictures you posted, but I think it's appropriate) you're both lucky to have each other.  =)

Ooh, I love it.  I would *never* have the patience for all that pleating.  Congratulations to you; it came out beautifully.  =)
15  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: Renting is no excuse for lame decor! on: July 09, 2010 09:51:33 PM
I'm still retching a little at the thought of the before versions of the master bedroom and bathroom.  I'm afraid of nightmares because of that sponge painting job.

But you fixed it.  =)  The good color choice and excellent paint job have joined forces to defeat the evil demons of wretched sponge painting.  It looks nice!
16  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: RRR Challenge #1 Star wars skirt on: July 08, 2010 08:36:08 PM
I'm jealous!  People keep finding these awesome sheets featuring things like, well, Star Wars.

I heartily approve, both of the skirt itself (nice drape!) and the fabric/duvet cover selection (AWESOME).
17  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Hey, it's a week and a half before prom...I'll make my dress!! on: July 08, 2010 02:29:39 PM
You're beautiful, your dress is beautiful, and I hope your prom was equally lovely.  =)

I'm especially impressed with the corset portion and the way you came up with it from scratch.  I've had the same problem--every single tutorial I've found involves an underbust corset, but the part I need help with visualizing is the bust area.  I *think* I've got it, but I'm not sure...it's basically like a bra-type thing?  I don't know how hard it would be for you to explain it, but would you be able to describe how you dealt with the problem?

Again, it's BEAUTIFUL.

Aww, there are some times when you just have to ignore negative second opinions.  Especially when they come from males (or younger sisters).  Maybe it just doesn't fit in with the styles he likes--you don't have to be constrained by his sense of fashion.  I think it's cute.

I mean, it *might* become a little bit overdone if you added yards of lace, multiple kittens, rainbows, and unicorn vomit with some sparkles thrown in for good measure.  The point, though, is that your apron is nowhere near the realm of ghastly and it would take quite a lot to get it there.

But I just made a skirt and stuck kitty-shaped pockets on it, so I might not be the best one to ask.
19  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Re: Prom Dress into Peacock costume! on: July 06, 2010 10:33:29 PM
Awesome, both to the original prom dress and its peacock alter ego.  I particularly like the peacocky-spot-things that you made--they look unbelievably real, especially in the first photo.

Wow.  Just wow.  You don't need to wait for an excuse to wear something like this.  Just pretend every day is time traveler day and you're golden.  =)
