21  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / The Little Mermaid - Altered Altoid Tin on: January 09, 2016 08:52:40 AM
I used a variety of "Dew Drops" (from The Robin's Nest) to create the effect of sea glass
Vintage mermaid image is from Gecko Gals - - they have an amazing collection of vintage images -- if you sign up for their newsletter you will receive 2 free collage sheets each month Smiley

22  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / New Traditions - Gingerbread House Competition! on: December 04, 2015 07:16:11 PM
We have a new holiday tradition in our family that began last year.  Instead of buying each other gifts or doing the usual secret Santa, white elephant or other type of gift exchange, we decided to have a friendly gingerbread house building competition with a cash prize! The "buy in" was $10 per person and jackpot on the line was $160!  All names went into a jar for a blind pairing of 2 man teams.  A one hour time limit was set.  And no pre-made house forms!  All teams were provided with packs of graham crackers and a bag of homemade royal icing.  Colleen and I shopped for all kinds of different toppings and candies to provide the teams.  There were candies flying and messes made and at the end of the hour, Trevor and Tori skyped in from out of town to serve as our impartial judging panel (they had no idea whose house was whose or which of us were paired together). We cannot wait to do this again!

23  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Decopauge Ornaments with Vintage Book Pages on: November 25, 2015 07:11:45 PM
I participate in an annual ornament swap - This year I used vintage book pages cut into strips decopauged onto a smoothfoam ball.  Added reindeer silhoutte (used my Cuttlebug Die Cutting Machine) and the new Heidi Swapp Marquee Love Glitter - - LOVE the size and shape of this glitter and it was nice to work with!

Used "Meowwww" Stamps from Neat & Tangled - a little stickles on the hearts for some sparkle

My boy, Henry

I used product packaging to mat the photo, and cut a wine cork in half for the "fat cat" embellishment

27  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / "In Case of Emergency" Money Holder for Gift Giving on: May 30, 2015 05:09:27 PM
I created this money holder for my teen grandson and he LOVED it!

I printed the axes (free images from google search!) on a textured cardstock and then taped the money in the center.
Next I printed the wording (using a stencil font) on a transparancy and stapled over the top of the cardstock and money
Finally, framed it in a frame from the dollar store!
Super easy, but it was actually appreciated!

28  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / OSO NEGRO - using Graphic 45 on: May 08, 2015 08:15:45 PM
LOVE Graphic 45 paper - but usually have a hard time using it in projects, but I think I nailed this time!  This is our lab, Cal - when he rolls around on his back and makes growly noises, we call him "Oso Negro" (spanish for black bear)

unforunately, today I got the news from the vet that his cancer is not treatable - - we will probably only have a few weeks left with this big ol lug of a loving dog!  My heart is breaking!!

I love this cat.  I have had him since he was weaned was from his feral mother -- 15 years now.  He could seriously care less if I existed, but he can't get enough of my husband who didn't even come into to picture until he was 6 years  old - Look at this photo!  I adore him!
