1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Peacock Feathers Shawl (fiddlesticks) on: August 03, 2005 04:22:17 PM
Is this where I get to preen?  (I'm terrified of the "New Topic" button!)

There she is!  I need to get a better photo, though.  I live in the darkest dwelling place, I think.

This was about a month and a half of knitting, on and off along with other smaller projects during lulls when I couldn't stand to even touch the wool.

This is laceweight from handpaintedyarn.com, color:  Indigo.  I used maybe a little over one skein.

It is, by far, the prettiest thing I've ever knit and I'm enchanted by it.

Edit:  I knew I forgot something.  This is a pattern by Dorothy Siemens of fiddlesticksknitting.com .  Fantastic pattern and the instructions and charts were very clear.  I thought the only thing that was a little confusing was that only one half is charted and you have to then do the mirror image on the other side.  But once I got past that mental hurdle, it was fairly smooth sailing.  I did have to rely on my life-lines a couple times...but that was my own inattention at work rather than anything about the pattern.   Smiley
