651  Re: Any ideas for "Handmade production line gifts"? in Winter Holidays by sweets4ever on: December 19, 2006 07:25:10 AM
I'm making presents for my fiance's employees (24 of 'em...argh!) tonight.  I'm making little gift sets of a little bit of everything from this thread:
Holiday mugs filled with...
Chocolate-dipped pretzel rods
Chocolate dipped spoons
Homemade suckers
Hot cocoa cones
A handful of sugar free candy

Last year I made these for him: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=69356.0
I only had to make 14 last year, so we spent a bit more money with the gel, wicks & such.

AH!!  I had made this for Kittykill's wedding https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=130284.0 and the sneaky lil' bugger made me these awesome embroidered holiday tea towels as a surprise thank you!

They got here on my birthday, so it's a double surprise!!  Kiss

653  Re: 3 Simple, Misc. Melted Bead Projects <IMG heavy> in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by sweets4ever on: December 18, 2006 04:11:21 AM
For the clear part, I melted clear pony beads.  Clear beads just like these...

Eek... please be careful with melting beads & your pregnancy though.  The fumes are most likely toxic.  Smiley

Most beads will melt (if they are plastic), though small beads like seed beads don't seem to or at least, I gave up on them before they had a chance to.

Aw... those are going to look lovely with your colors!

I'd do a table runner the length of the table in purple and then your bamboo could be your green accents (you could use purple ribbons to tie the tags to them, too).

Maybe put the vase on a mirror?

I think with the vase, the crystals in the bottom, the rose, the candle and runner, much more might get to be really busy especially if you use place cards, have glasses set at the table beforehand, etc.

Here's what I was thinking, it just didn't come out as well as it looks in my head. Cheesy

655  Re: Capture 24: Photo and Frame Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by sweets4ever on: December 13, 2006 12:05:02 AM
I got the film from hgflower developed - woohoo!!  Here's everything I got from her... she's SUCH a sweetie and spoiled me!

Everything just waiting for me to tear into it.  Cheesy

Awwwesome black & white Cityscapes calendar, gummi bears, her camera and an etched frame with tissue flowers and trees underneath.
It's hard to photograph, but if you look really close, you can see our wedding date etched at the top inbetween the hearts!! :-)

THE frame!

Here are the 27 photos she took for me!  http://www.flickr.com/photos/sweets4ever/tags/capture24photoframeswapfromhgflower/
My favorites... the elephant next to the HUGE Christmas tree, her turkeybird and all the retro signs and trucks.  The ones that are a little too dark are Christmas lights!

Thank you so much, hgflower!!

Sweets, I love that he took your pic!  TOO funny!  BTW, your Brother made out like a BANDIT!!! Look at all that baby loot!

I KNOW!  I think that's why they weren't folding and neatly pressing the wrapping paper, we had to cut dinner short just so they could get everything opened with people there.

It was totally worth it... ALL of that paper, ribbons and such, just jumbled up in garbage bags... it was a Craftster/recyclers/garbage pickers dream.  Cheesy

ROFL you gotta train your family better!! Last baby shower I went to, after it was over, my cousin handed me all the wrapping and the tissue paper. She had sat through the whole thing, neatly folding it all for me. I was actually pretty humbled.

Seriously!!  Hmph... they were crinkling it all up - grr.

Sweets, you so got busted *chuckles*. And now I know what you look like, yay! Cheesy

So...you gonna show off the scrapbook on here at any point? Wink

Ha!  Yeah, I got busted.  I'm still fussing with the scrapbook.  She was born Monday night & I'd like to give it to them this weekend, so hopefully it will be all done by then.  Smiley

I have more YKYACW with pictures...

YKYACW you spend months & months planning with other Craftsters to travel across the country to meet one another...

Kategirl, Taloola, jMi, vanillaxlight, Leah, retroeva, sweets4ever & krazigal72

YKYACW you have a picture taken by the Tutankhamen banner at the museum because you think it's hilarious when people post "TUT!!" and you want to post this picture when you tell them to please post comments instead of demanding tutorials.

sweets4ever, jMi, vanillaxlight, Leah, kategirl, krazigal72, taloola & retroeva

YKYACW you wear "special shirts" with your Craftster name painted on the back during your trip AND you make silly poses at random locations throughout Chicago with them on.

retroeva, vanillaxlight, krazigal72, sweets4dver, jMi, taloola

YKYACW you get mugged and have your picture taken with the police officers so you can send them crafted thank you cards when you get home.

retroeva, sweets4ever, vanillaxlight, police officer, taloola, police officer, jMi, krazigal72, kategirl & jungrrl

And lastly, YKYACW some of your Craftster friends can't make it to the "meet-up," so you carry dolls around for them and get pictures of them everywhere instead.  Here, we've managed to find other dolls somewhere in Chicago and we are actually introducing them, so they can "make friends."  Yes, we are THAT cool.

Here's another one I made... this one I had to make in the car 'cause were running late, lol.  Cheesy

The birdie on top is actually a pin cushion I got as a prize in the Great Scavenger Hunt Swap.  Smiley

YKYACW your fiance catches you on camera picking through the garbage at your brother's baby shower, tearing off scraps from all of the gift wrappings so you can make a surprise scrapbook with all of the pictures you've taken and bits of papers and cards.  Argh - busted!

...the scrapbook's almost done though!  Cheesy
