801  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Mini 13 Days of Halloween Swap Round 5 S/U CLOSED Send Outs 09/15-09/13 on: August 17, 2013 04:18:05 PM
I believe in the great pumpkin if it means I can hang out in a pumpkin patch with someone special all evening. Smiley I went to a fantastic pumpkin festival in Damarascotta, ME last year, and there was a giant pumpkin decorating competition. My favorite was the one with the scene from the great pumpkin painted on it, and it was voted "most sincere".

My goodness, you can miss a lot when you live in a field for two weeks.

Just got back from a folk festival in NY, and wanted to check in!

Favorite Candy? I dunno, that's too hard to choose. I usually use Halloween as an excuse to eat the candy I wouldn't buy normally, like kit kat bars. Also, the ice cream shop I work for makes a pumpkin ice cream that is to die for.

Vampire/Werewolf/Zombie? I'd say non-sparkly vamp or werewolf with some precautions. I like keeping all of myself attached to myself too much to be a zombie.

Jack-O-Lanterns? DEFINITELY. I love carving pumpkins. My first year of college I carved twelve, mostly nature-themed (vultures and bugs and whatnot), but usually there's some creepy ones in there too.

All is quiet on the crafting front, but now that I've recovered from the festival I'll be going back to work! Unfortunately I still don't have a fully functioning computer, but hopefully I'll be better connected until it is fixed.

And, mandykaye, I would totally have gone to the pirate fest with you. That sounds awesome!!!

Yay, I'm glad the mug made it intact! Seriously, after working for the postal service, I'm surprised anything makes it anywhere in one piece.

Also, that 11th doctor mug cozy is way cute!

I love dressing up for halloween. I have a pirate outfit as fall-back, but I try to come up with something new each year. Last year I was a witch with a glow paint skull drawn over my face that was only supposed to show up in the dark, but it didn't work very well. I might try again at some point.
This year I'll hopefully be teaming up with friends, but no word yet on what we're going to do. I've thought about being a minion from despicable me, or maybe an NSA security camera.

I got my package from Acadian Driftwood! Prepare to be jealous.  Grin

Firstly, I opened the box and found all these goodies:

Tea! That's all I needed. A good cup of tea. A superheated infusion of free radicals and tannin. Just the thing for heating the synapses.

Here's what was in the first wrapped bundle:

Can you figure it out? This is from the IT crowd, and it got the jingle stuck in my head immediately.

This might help you understand:

And THEN I opened the bestest thing ever. Get your pinning/wisting fingers ready:

How awesome is this?!?!?!?!?!?!? IT'S SO COOL! And comfy. I love it so much, I almost didn't take it off once I put it on. Oh, and why are my hands tucked in a weird way, you might ask? Because it has pockets!!!
It's all made from tee shirts and is super light. Fantastic.
Thank you Acadian Driftwood!!!!!!!!!!!

Look at all those french knots!  Great job RachelinRainbows!  I also am loving all the use of fur in these monsters

Those french knots are awesome! And Becky was furred with a stitch I stole from cross-stitching, called the velvet stitch. It's a good way to use up a color, that's for sure!

I love the hoopla, especially the fabric on the sherlocked one. I got my package tonight, and will be posting as soon as I have decent lighting to get good pics!!!

I think I'm done! We'll see if I have any last minute inspirations that I have to include, but... done! Hope to send on Monday.

Ooooo!

I'm nearly done. Just got one project left to do, then to packing it up and sending away!
