Oh my gosh, those ricotta and fresh herb biscuits look amazing!! I will be anxiously awaiting the recipe. Nevermind! I found it!! Yum!!!

That pinboard!!!! Love.

I did not get around to crafting on Friday...work, happy hour, and movie night, followed by a late-night family hang out at a friends...I just couldn't squeeze it in.  Sad

However, I DID find time to play with my new free-motion and walking feet! Here's my sad first attempt with the free motion foot:

I got a little bit better with the loopty-loops towards the end. And I attempted to scribble a message in there. Smiley Try to ignore my tension issues...I got them (mostly) worked out toward the end.

I also worked on my Leia embroidery...it's much slower going without a swap deadline to prod me along.

12  Eleven from Stranger Things in Needlework: Completed Projects by Abbeeroad on: February 24, 2017 09:55:10 AM
I made this hoop for the Stranger Things Swap, which is totally rocking, by the way.

My partner liked Eleven and the phrase "mouthbreather" from the show. I came across this image on pinterest, and decided to stitch it up.

I printed the image at high contrast and transferred it to my fabric using my light box.

Then I just stitched over my transfer.

I really enjoyed this project and already have another hoop in this style in the works.

Thanks for looking! Smiley

excitement last night in the neighborhood with a police search and craziness

Whoa - hope all is ok!

Can't wait to see your leprechaun hats, kbrison!

I made banana bread last night...I had to try a new recipe because there was no vanilla extract in my cupboard when I reached for it. I used this recipe. It came out pretty good. I substituted 1/2 cup of chocolate and peanut butter chips for the walnuts.

It looks so lonely after CLM's massive loaf posts. Smiley

...so, so, so tired of bobble stitches.  My hand hurts. Sad

But it's soooo cute!!! Worth it, lol.

Kiddo's art show went great. He did an awesome job presenting, even though there were some nerves for sure at the start. It was good for him to see what other kids did so that he can compare the level of effort. Intrinsic motivation is hard to teach - and this was definitely a good experience.

When we got home I pulled out my wood burner for a much overdo personal swap:

This was her request so if she stumbles over here I don't feel so bad giving her a peek. Wink At least she'll know that I'm finally working on it! Grin

I get to post first!!

I received an awesome package from fatewineroses. It's seriously cool.

Here's a group shot (with chocolate bonus):

Some close ups...a TM Patch with my fave quote with the perfect font and accent fabric:

And the hoop! Ah, I love this so much!!!

Thank you so much, fatewineroses!!!!

That tissue holder is cute!

Playing a bit of catch up...

Friday (2/17), finished drawing and carved mandala stamp:

I'm still trying to decide if it works as a pattern like this or if random stand-alone stamps would be better.

Then over the weekend (Sat/Sun 2/18-19) I worked on my Leia Embroidery:

I didn't get too far...we went on a ski trip, so I fit this in when I could (mostly before bed). I also picked up a cold while I was away, so I didn't manage to craft yesterday...I crashed after we got home. Sad

Challenge: Detention: February
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Pokemon Valentines
Project Page Link: N/A
Brief Description: I made these valentines with my son for his class. We carved a two-step stamp for these cards and stamped "I choose you" on the inside.
Project Pictures:

Challenge: Headmistress Challenge: February
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Eye Tie-Dye Shirt
Project Page Link: Video for pattern
Brief Description: I made this shirt for a loved one - my son. We tried our hand at an eye tie-dye pattern. Our black dye was RIT and a bit old, so it faded a bit, but the eye pattern is still visible.
Project Picture:

Challenge: Floo Powder: San Francisco
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Tie-Dye Randomness
Project Page Link: N/A
Brief Description: Tie dye blurs lines and blends colors, much like the San Fran fog. Smiley
Project Pictures:

Class: Study of Ancient Runes
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Tie Dye Seat Cover
Project Page Link: N/A
Brief Description: I don't think I have to say that tie-dye is my favorite craft. I love adding color to things. When kiddo's off-white seat cover was looking stained and grungy, I gave it a face lift in my dye pot.

Awesome hat!! I have a request in for one as well. Wink Would have been much cooler if I could have made my own.

Last night was mandala night in my house...I'm working on a stamp and kiddo is working on a piece for an upcoming art show.

I am loving the pies....I can definitely see your tweaks to the pattern, Smeddley. Different flavors would be cool, too!

I had a much more successful pattern transfer attempt last night. I think I can tweak anything I'm not happy with when stitching.

I would like to pick up a smaller hoop and then I'll start working on it. I'm headed north for a ski trip this weekend, so I'll be sure to bring this project with me for daily crafting. Smiley I might have been bitten by the embroidery bug.

lol...no judgement. I trace off my phone for smaller things all the time.

I did print this out and then trace with a light box...it's just the lines I'm having trouble with. I can't draw, so I really need the picture to tell me which lines to transfer for my pattern, and there's just not enough definition with this, especially in the face.

Here's my second attempt...we'll see how it transfers to fabric when I get home tonight. Fingers crossed.
