I love that idea.
My sister-in-law got my the coolest set of tea from Trader Joe's. There was a dozen long tubes of tea leaves. Today, I tried lemongrass and rosehip.
Rosehip grows wild here. This summer I hope to find a place to harvest it for homemade tea.
Anyone else love tea?
I collected wild rosehips this fall and made rosehip and honey syrup (high in vitamin C and supposed to be a great cold remedy) as well as rosehip infused oil (supposed to be great for your skin, though I think I'm allergic to the Jojoba oil I used as a carrier
). I found rosehips smelled pretty awful during the boiling process (kind of like rotten leaf litter) though tasted nice with honey. And you can freeze rosehips - I just spread them out in a single layer on a cookie sheet. Maybe I'll try making tea with them!
Oh and remember to strain the fruits through cheesecloth because they contain tiny hairs that irritate your gastrointestinal system (and can cause "itchy bum" lol).
