I decided to make a poncho (I'm actually shooting for a poncho-ette) for my Mom for Mother's Day, but I'm a little confused by the pattern.  I'm 99.9% sure I'm reading the pattern right, but all it is a wicked long rectangle.  See:


I know I sew it up when I get to the right length, but how can this possibly become a poncho? Has anyone made a poncho like this? Am I just wasting yarn and time here?

I feel like at the end of it, I'm just going to have a long, pink scarf Smiley


The color you chose is gorgeous and your crochet work looks fab!  You're right when you say you are making a wicked long scarf, but when you fold it half and sew the neckline you'll see it come together!  Please post a pic. of the finished product!   Smiley
