1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Embroidery + Heat = ??? on: January 29, 2010 03:07:20 PM
Hey all,

My mom is renovating her kitchen this summer and has already picked out the theme (Go Green- Sage green, beige, dk. brown, and leaves and vines) and I wanted to make her something for it.  I'm brainstorming about quilted hot pads, since she's had the same mis-matched worn out hot pads and oven mitts since I can remember.  I would like to do some hand embroidery on them, too, since I've recently rediscovered cross stitch and want to get into embroidery.  However, I'm worried that the heat will mess up the floss. I could easily leave out the embroidery, but I think it would just add a little something extra.

Has anyone embroidered on hot pads or anything like them before? Am I worried for nothing?

Help and advice are much appreciated. Cheesy

Also, I'm sorry if this question has been asked before! I looked and didn't see it.
