Yes you can be a giver and a needer. the only restrictions are for first time swappers. people who have never done a swap can only sign up as a giver.
14  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Re: Quality Street costume on: December 29, 2012 09:25:37 PM
those are the best christmas chocolates ever! We have them here in canada, so im sure the states as them as well. I really like that you chose to go as chocolates instead of the typical elf etc...im sure there was probably plenty of people dressed as those.

Its the kinda swap where i pair everyone together. you might send to more than one person if you say that you are willing to but thats really up to you. The link i posted shows you the questionnaire that you will fill out. if you're a giver, you tell me what you have to give like yarn or paper supplies etc...if you're a giver you tell me what craft supplies you need. Or you can do both since you can be a giver and a needer if you want, sometimes you have way too many supplies or leftovers for one craft, but need something for another.

18  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / Re: So I baked clay on a cookie sheet and I guess you're not supposed to but why...? on: December 17, 2012 06:53:00 PM
you dont want to mix polymer clay and food items because it can be toxic. Since you used a cookie tray you should be able to wash it really well and it will be ok, but i wouldnt keep using it without laying down foil or something simular beforehand. When you wash it just make sure there are no bits of your clay left because that can be harmful. You can get trays super cheap from thrift stores or some dollar stores so you should invest in your own. When baking on a cookie pan the side touching it tends to get shiny, if its something you would want to avoid you can put a layer of baking soda down and it will protect the clay and dust right off when you're done baking. some people also put a small sheet of batting down which is fine with the low temp the clay bakes at.

if you end up using a pasta machine or something with more crevices they should never be used for food again since it cant be guarunteed that you've cleaned all the clay off. some could sneak down in the crevices then into the food if you cook with them again.

20  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: Help! My Spouse is a Carnivore! on: December 11, 2012 08:57:47 PM
http://cleangreensimple.com/2012/03/vegan-buffalo-wings/ this is the one that i found, though there are a few out there. If you like cauliflower, you can also rice it...you either use a food processor or a blender (top it up with water if using the blender and pulse a few times) it turns into bits the size of rice. I find rice too heavy personally so i use this method alot instead, or mix the two. you can use it for risotto as well, and stir fries.  I think the veggie/meat eater can be worked out easily...it would be alot harder if you were vegan. my pinterest has plenty of veggie/vegan recipes if you'd like some extra ideas...not all are veggie since i had to start including meat for health reasons, but the ones that aren't can be altered. There are plenty of things on there that i had my meat eater bf eat and he's always enjoyed the stuff i made. http://pinterest.com/tiffi333/recipes-to-try/  I also have a veggie soup board and a few others that you might be interested in. It's easy to add meats to lots of these meals for your husband if you want to.
