1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / For someone who loves cowboys... on: January 08, 2006 06:18:05 PM
Well, not really me, but I made this for a Christmas present for a friend.  It is 4' x 6' and I found the fabric at equilter.com.  Once I saw the fabric I knew I had to make a quilt out of it.  I couldn't figure out what to do with the large print, but found that just using a big panel of it in the middle worked out well.  I and the recipient both love this quilt.   Cheesy

Close up of the quilting:

And while I don't often fussy cut, I couldn't help myself with the cowboy fabric as you can see in the borders:

2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Frayed Edge Circle Quilt on: June 06, 2005 06:32:31 AM
I made a smaller version of this quilt in reds and tans for a baby shower, but I liked the pattern so much I made a 4' x 6' version for a lap quilt.  The circles are done in raw-edge applique and therefore omits any curved piecing which isn't my favorite.  It eats up a lot of fabric that way, but it comes together so fast that I don't care!

3  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Fun Octopus Quilt on: May 05, 2005 08:07:45 AM
The combination of snowball blocks and nine patches is quickly becoming one of my favorite baby quilt combinations.  So fast and easy, but with a decent pay off.  This quilt is for a friend's baby who was born on May 2nd.  Hope you like it as much as I do!   Wink

4  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Dragon Pinwheel Quilt on: February 02, 2005 03:46:56 PM

Made this quilt straight out of this book:

The pinwheels were really fun and turned out better than I expected, and I included a photo of one of the eight.  I always have grand plans for the actual quilting part, but I simply quilted in the ditch with a variable color thread.  It was a Christmas present for my best friend's four year old.

5  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Fuzzy Easy Bacon Quilt on: February 02, 2005 03:35:01 PM

I made several of these fringe flannel quilts for Christmas gifts (finally getting around to posting).    These are easy and fun to make and the payoff is actually pretty remarkable.  Being made of two layers of flannel (no batting) they are super cozy and soft.   A coworker gave me the bacon fabric and the recipient of the gift loooooves bacon, so naturally I knew she would love a bacon quilt!
