I decided to make the children I was giving gifts to for x-mas some rag quilts. I thought it would be easy and simple but boy was I wrong! Each quilt cost about $60 and was over 20 hours of work a piece. I finished one early and didn't start the other 2 until the beginning of Dec. I ended up having my bf cut the cloth while I was working and I would put them together, sew, and clip the edges and it was hell the last night before we left for the holidays. I ended up sewing 16-20 hours straight, without a break. I made my bf get me water so I wouldn't have to get up and ended up clipping the edges in the car! So after over $200 and 60 hours of work here they are.
#1 The Dinosaur I made for my bf's nephew. He's only a few months old right now.
#2 The Turtle I made for my 16 year old sister.
Note the nasty pink and black zebra/thumb print, it's right up her alley.
#3 The Caterpillar I made for my bf's neice who is 3. This is more rectangular and should fit on her bed and match her room.
close up of the face.
Here's the zig-zag stiych I used and the embroidered mouth. First time doing that so I'm supre proud of myself.
and the spot thingies. This is pre-cutting but you get the idea.
If you couldn't tell the caterpillar is the one I'm most proud of. It was the last one I did and they got better as I went along but everyone who received one was thrilled. Since I made the dino first I used it a bit before I washed it and wrapped it and they're actually quite warm. Comments and Criticisms welcome. Hope you enjoyed looking at them
