Eggshell candles is a really brilliant thing. It's too late for Ostara, but maybe I'll do some for Easter. I like the way they glow when the candle burns down. And the bracelet looks very interesting; I always like wave-washed shells. At a local Pagan festival a few years ago there was a man selling lovely jewelry made from fragments of china (19th century, from the look of it) that he'd picked up on the shore of one of the lakes. There's something very calming about anything that's withstood a century of constant abuse by wind and wave and still keeps its essential self intact.

Well, the next swap would be for Beltane, which is always a favourite with everyone, so it probably shouldn't be a small one. But somebody with no swaps on the go (hint hint) could always do a One Tiny Elemental Thing swap in the meantime. (Or maybe it should be four tiny elemental things...)

I can't believe I missed the altar cloth, Maman. It's beautiful, and quite huge! Did you know how big to make it, Witchhippie, or was it just a lucky guess?

In other news, Holistic Knitter reports that she has received my package, but has a downed computer and can't post photos yet.

Love the acorn fairies! That's just about the best thing I've seen all month - I hope I can remember this when it's acorn season again!

I love the idea of eggs containing little gifts and prizes. Not just Kindereggs (which are wonderful in their own way) but reusable hard egg containers.  I remember that the best part of Easter egg hunts was the hunting - once you found the hard-boiled eggs they lost their appeal!

Oh, that really is terrible about your home being sold from under you. I think it may be time to start workin' some magic to keep you on your magical little island. There's a traditional Hoodoo spell to "nail down" your property to keep it from being taken away. That won't work forever, of course, but it could help to keep it at the one-year time frame, rather than four months. That would at least buy you some time to do magic to guide your family to a home you will love as much as this one or more.

At the very least, spellwork gives you something positive to focus on, and keeps you from feeling helpless. (The fact that it can also help achieve real results is useful too!) A good place to start might be to just light a candle on Tuesday (Ostara, the Spring Equinox) and make a prayer that your family will be settled in your new home by the time the wheel of the year turns around again. If you could do this down at the beach you love it would be even better, and you could write your petition on a little piece of paper and set it alight in the flame. If the tide is going out, toss the ashes into the sea and let the waves carry them away.

If you're comfortable doing magic with saints, St. Martha the Dominator might be the one to help protect your home and guide you to a new one. Starr Casas has a nice St. Martha spell at her Old Style Conjure site. Mama Starr's prayers are unambiguously Christian, but the form of the spell is easily adaptable. Coincidentally  Wink Tuesday is St. Martha's day, and spells to petition her aid are often done on nine consecutive Tuesdays.

You might want to make your magical petitions to include all eight families displaced by this, rather than for your family alone. Strength in numbers, perhaps, or maybe just generosity, but it seems like a good thing to do.

Love the Goddess face! And the eggs are a great idea - there are so many great printed tissue papers out there that could be used. I was recently introduced to printed cocktail napkins too - even more designs to choose from, and the paper is so thin and soft (use only the top layer) that it'll form to any shape.

I hope there'll be a flurry of photo postings shortly - lots of people have received in the past few days.

Hoarding and swearing - them's my kind of vices. And you could add coveting Gypsy wagons to that list, too! Brilliant work, each and every vice-ridden one of you!

I remember my older brother growing crystals on a brick when I was little. It wasn't a kit, so it must've used readily-available household chemicals, though I have no idea what they were. I remember they were clear, but you could add food colouring to make them grow in colours.

Even we big Boobaa's like to do a little off-roading through the puddles when we get the chance! We had a fantastically warm day here today - first time out without a jacket in months! Supposed to be more of the same for the next few days - mmm!

Oh yes, please with the crystal-growing photos! Thanks for the DC#.
