This is fantastic!  I am so going to get my sister to make these for my wedding! I don't crochet so I can't do it myself :-(

Thank you everyone for the wonderful feedback.

My little sister has claimed it for her dorm room so it will be going to good use...her dorm room needs some serious help.

When I read the challenge I immediately wanted to do something with newspaper yarn...I am in love with the stuff.  As I was pondering what I could do my mom asked me if I wanted a basket/trashcan that had seen better days.  I immediately thought it would make a great shape for a light/chandelier plus the light would shine through it in a cool way.  Here is the end product

Here is what I started with

The first step was to make a ton of yarn

Then I hot glued and weaved my way around the basket

At last the basket is covered

I then took the parts out of a broken lampshade

I decided the lamp needed more so I broke out the "crystal" (plastic all the way) I stole from the cheezy lamp ever years ago.

I really like how it turned out.  The pictures do not do the lamp justice in the dark

Thanks for looking

I am so pleased you all like them. I am never sure if what I make is other people's style as well...I am a bit of an oddball  Smiley

A few of you have asked if I have an etsy store...not yet but Diginit Designs will be up and running in the next two weeks.

I am so touched that people are being moved by my little works of art.  Jen got the first one today.  She texted me only saying "thank you." I took that to mean i did my job as the BFF.

I recently (last July so I guess not too recently) decided to try selling my crafts at fairs, any bit of money helps right? Life circumstances are such that an crafts I made had to be made with very little out of pocket expenses.  With this in mind I went to Pintrest and looked for rock crafts.  I am a rock girl through and through so I have a ton of rocks on hand.  I found story stones almost immediately and fell in love with the idea. What a wonderful tool to encourage creativity in children.  These are what I came up with...

Family Time

Fishing Trip

Day at the Beach

Family Vacation

Camping Trip

Pirate

Fairy Tale

I made a pouch for each set and attached directions

Thanks for looking
